Meant to post this a while back but for those who watched the west ham Leicester match what did you think of him?

After a few mistakes I thought he was outstanding so calm with the ball at his feet and played centre mid and centre back. Young as well and an ivory cost international. I'd be happy if we signed him? Thoughts?

If he's got the right attitude, he could be a decent signing. Looked very comfortable in midfield, probably their most effective player in the second half.

He looks very good. Whether we have the financial might is less of a question, it's more a case if Nicola would part with the cash.

I'm sure they already have some names in mind!

As a CM fine, I think he's half decent. But I'd hate him as a CB. Far, far too clam. The amount of goals he'd gift in the PL as a CB isn't worth thinking about.

But I don't see the point in signing him as a CM, as if we wanted that sort of player in the centre, then I'd just move Fonte forward. I've got small doubts about Fonte's defensive ability in the PL, but there's no doubting that he's decent on the ball.

Fonte's all right on the ball, but he looks better than he is because playing in defence nobody marks him so he can run a long way without getting challenged. I wouldn't fancy him in midfield.

Would love to see Caulker here, but can't see it happening.

Being a Saints fan living in Leicester I've seen a few games in which he has played.

He's a real solid centre half. I don't think he's got the passing range to really play in midfield effectively, even as an anchor midfielder. He is very calm on the ball which can worry Leicester fans at times, yet he's so confident with the ball at his feet that you can't really knock him for it. Definitely got a lot of class.

He's also deceptively fast! Reminds me a bit of Crouch in that he's awkward to watch when he runs, however unlike Crouch he is pretty fast once he gets moving.

I think he'd be a solid centre half, however with the money that Leicester have behind them I'd think he'd command a fair fee and if I'm being honest I think there's better players out there for the £2-3 million that Leicester would almost certainly hold out for...

I think we will sign a few players from abroad as you can get more value for money.

Good point. Scott Dann for a million has been mentioned in the gossip columns, that would seem a much better deal (assuming there's any truth in it).

Both sol and fonte remind me of david luiz. And I really believe that once david luiz comes good he'll be within the top 3 defenders on the planet.
