Ivory Coast have just annouced their squad and they have included Sol Bamba which is no surprise considering his form this season but bad for us leaving us short at the back and without one of our best centre halfs. With Sean St. Ledger on his way out the club it leaves us with just Matt Mills and the injury prone Aleksandar Tunchev so i think Nigel will be going into the market for a centre half quite sharpish but Nigel has always done well when looking for centre halfs But this is just a preliminary squad and it will get shortened down http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16425375.stm
He said he was considering his international future as he had enough of travelling half the way across the world just to sit on the bench Worth a read http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....ast-decision/story-14029474-detail/story.html
I'd assume he would have told the manager he wasn't interested before he named the squad and the manager would have probably checked before naming him in the squad because you think he would have known that Sol had some reservations. So it looks like we will lose him after all then.
Tweet from Stringer Sol Bamba's been selected for his country in Africa Cup of Nations. Pearson says Ivory Coast taking 'tough stance' on taking those selected
This is the tough stance http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/16425919.stm - which won't affect us as we don't have a FA cup match.
Good luck to Sol if he goes - also notice a certain Max Gradel (now of St Etienne) in the same squad ... no contest on who I'll be supporting then!
Big loss, if we don't get someone in it may cost us. Over to Nigel. Now is the time for him to step it up. He can't simply just out all the attitudes, they'll be hard to shift, he needs to change them.
Club have just annouced both Sol Bamba and John Pantsil have been called up for african cup. Both will miss probaly thevrest of the month including tommorow
