http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22313358 Head coach Sean O'Driscoll has said Bristol City will look like a "different" club next term but does not expect to have to sell players. "We're in a unique position in that we don't have to sell anybody." O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol. Whats going to be so "different" about the club then, apart from dwindling attendances and much less away fans in the away end.. Everyones calling for a clearout.. it's about time we got rid of the ****e that sent us into the position we're in, and seeing this article is quite disapointing.
Move all the carp out,he has said he only has seven he wants to keep,i think we all know who they are. Heaton,Cunningham,Stead,Anderson,Killkenny,Kelly,Maloney. Davis,Baldock,Adomah,Skuse will be gone.
I really want to contribute to this thread but I really don't know what to say, I read SOD's comments this morning and I agreed virtually with most of what he said, I've read this latest contribution and we are off in another direction or so it seems and now I'm hovering in mid air... This guy is complicated and I'm, there you go hovering.....
We just have to buckle up and enjoy the ride. Let sod have time to do what he needs to and we will get our reward
shiny, I thought that when he had 20 games to keep us up, I just can't make up my mind, I agree with his approach and plans but he is very confusing to me...
Wiz we were never going to get out of trouble lets face it. The writing was on the wall in December. Sod will make us a success in league 1 im sure.
I think there is a difference between not "having" to sell players and actually deciding to do so. SOD is trying to emphasise the positive - we aren't in a bad situation next season, despite the £41m "debt". I for one am happy that he will be masterminding our transition. If he needs more scope to change the squad about then he can sell some players but if he doesn't feel he needs to then he won't have to. It is disappointing that we seem to have gone down without a fight but if we can adopt the possession football he is advocating then we can start to dominate games without having to resort to getting stuck into tackles etc etc which is what people generally seem to perceive as "fight". I agree with pretty much everything SOD says, he just needs time to prove he can actually deliver his vision.
"SOD" it Big John, I've been patient for 90% of my sixty three years as a City fan. If we spend another 6 to 10 years in League One like the Danny Wilson/Tinnion/Johnson days, then I will not live to see us in the second tier again! It really hurts me that we are the sixth biggest City in England yet all these poxy little places from Sunderland, Middlesboro, Blackburn, Nottingham, Leicester, Southampton, Watford, Stoke etc all seem to spend more time in the Prem and Championship than we do! PS; and the same goes for Bristol Rugby and Gloster cricket, and BRFC; What a list of underachievers isn't it!!!!!!!!!!!
If we were doomed 20 games ago, and we keep the same players why do people think its going to change?? He said on the radio last week we can't play the way he wants us to play, so we have to play the way we have been. So if he's saying he wants to keep some of the players out of contract then I predict a long season ahead. I'm with Wiz, not seen anything to **** home about, not saying I want him out just not excited unless we sweep out most and replace the ones that put us in this position. Only one I would keep who's out of contract is Heaton. Jon Stead I think is hard working determined but we knew he was always going to be leaving seeing as he rents down here and is building a house up north.
