We must beat Bristol City please log in to view this image The term 'six pointer' was invented especially for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Bristol City. A win for either side could prove to be a massive stride towards safety, a defeat would result in them heading into the international break rock bottom of the Championship table and starring life in the third tier of English football in the face. We've been looking at the table, looking at those games in hand that our rivals still had to play and wondering if they'll take anything from them. Barnsley managed to win, while Peterborough earned a point, the result? Wolves are now second from bottom, with Saturday's visitors to Molineux bottom of the table. Bristol City, ourselves and Peterborough are all level on points with 39 points from 37 games. Barnsley are two points clear after 36 games, while Mick McCarthy's Ipswich are on 43 points from 37 along with Sheffield Wednesday 43 points from 36. "This is a six-pointer - we have to win this game because if we don`t they jump above us and we`ll have another team to get past," Read more: http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=312747#ixzz2NX1z54FJ
Love the way he concentrates just on us and the way we perform...no frilly bits.....no stats...just the game. My Interpretation of this is; Performance normally produces results........if we perform and get the results, we don't go down, that's it.
God he see's right to the nub doesn't he Not. if they beat us we have to overtake them again 'Duh' No if you lose this game you have to get the points elsewhere as would we if we lost the game you can not affect what other teams are doing waiting for them to slip up is flawed you have to concentrate on what you can do.
Dean Saunders Great player - unconvincing manager As was Bob Charlton, Bobby Moore, Paul Ince, Souness, Keane, Shearer etcetcetc
Dean Saunders sounds a really dim manager.. We certianly have one over them on the manager front.. now it's the players/fans turn
The polar opposite statements from each manager is especially striking, but I'm glad it's the way round it is. The pressure on this game is already high and SOD's played it down to relieve it, whilst Saunders has actually increased it. It's generalizing, but I'd suggest that in high pressure situations it's the ones with the cool heads that usually prevail. I keep telling myself, we're underdogs, they've got the better players and that they'll have a full crowd behind them, but i can't help but feel that we're going to get something...
I was staying in a hotel in Derby a few years back watching City away with a few mates. There was a wedding party that night in the hotel, Bruce Grobbelar and Dean Saunders were there, I entered the bar early, the only other person there at the time was Dean Saunders so I smiled and said Hello Dean! He blanked me with a rudeness only a proper arrogant tosser could produce!! mans a complete ****er.. Bruce Grobbelar was a delight to meet, spent a bit of time with us and bought us all a beer. I dont know why he thought he was so special, I just thought he was a ****
