It's a pi55 poor day here, raining heavily, we've a game tonight that we might just get tonked in, but to raise the spirits just a tad cast your mind back a little over 2 1/2 years to 24th May 2014 against tonight's opponents and the wonders of what unfolded at Wembley......... Here's a link to Clive's write up of that day and if it doesn't give you goosebumps then you'd better check that you still have a pulse!!!!!! http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba.../zamoras-unbelievable-wembley-moment--history Personally the day will always be remembered for the generosity of those on here who purchased tickets for others who for one reason or another were unable to buy them direct......the travel over with mates and meeting up with others en route, the meeting up with fellow posters and fans in the bar in Kingsbury beforehand and around the ground, sitting with mates and sharing the raw emotion of it all, not being able to talk for a few days afterwards....... It's a day that will live with me for ever and as it may well be a few years before this stupid little football club that we all support does anything like it again , we must cherish those memories....... U R'ssssssssss
The cumulative effect of all of the disappointment since has left me a beaten man. Soul-destroying stuff.
At least we don't have any financial involvement other than going to games, think how TF & Co feel.......
The time before the match is a bit of a blur to me as I was trying to find people to sort out tickets. The match itself I remember as being dull till the last minute when all he'll broke loose. Great post Tramore. Hopefully 3 points tonight will cheer everybody up.
I'm in Sydney airport heading back to Melbourne watching online updates of the match. Was here for the Stone Roses last night - brilliant gig and venue (Opera House) - had a beer with a bloke called Paul before, turned out he was from Derby AND was at the game. Reckoned we did to them what they had done to West Brom in another play off. All good banter, thoroughly decent bloke, who still gets stick from Forest mates about OBZ.
A great day alright Trá Mór! Other than the result, what stays with me most is the ticket hunting (and paying in the hope of getting their money back) the English Rs did for their Irish cousins. Class.
And not forgetting the Overseas Hoops who got assistance from ST holders and not606's. A few tense moments up until the point in the pub when the ticket hit the palm...
