I used to use Twitter a lot and had a reasonable amount of followers (7k ish) but it became a ****ing shambles.
Even if you ignored the politics that the algorithms were shoving down your throat, the threads were unreadable anyway because you had to wade through adverts and unrelated click bait from bots.

Anyway Bluesky looks and works exactly like Twitter used to but no adverts or bots.
It even seems to have a fair proportion of people that are capable of spelling!

I’ve got far fewer followers on there but the engagement is far better already.

Anyway I’d recommend anyone on it ****s twitter off and goes Bluesky.

I don't use either, thanks. That said there's a huge clue in the word 'social'. :emoticon-0138-think

Aye not using SM at all is fine
I just need it for some work stuff I occasionally do really and there’s a strong move towards BlueSky so I thought I’d mention it that’s all

The fact that they’re getting 1,000,000 new users per day, show what a mess Musk has made of Twitter, I’ve just set up an account.

I've also switched from Twitter to BlueSky and I agree with everything Dennis said, but I can guess which posters will have something negative to say about it.

Funny you should say that...I could predict those who are leaving Twitter and going to Bluesky,it's not rocket science.

Who needs all this blue sky, twitter and X nonsense. If I wanted to talk to people I’d go down the pub.

You're on here talking about it to us fellow sad bastards, dude ;)

I don't partake as like to remain anonymous online, but pay an interest and agree with Dennis, it may take off... But wonder what will happen when the investors start wanting a return on their money... If they're not going to use marketing and advertising revenue, then they're going to have to start charging for having a username.. ppl are used to 'free' social media now.

There appears to be a herd mentality going on with the twitter exodus, I've seen many people extolling the virtures of bluesky who seem to be reacting against Musk and wonder if bluesky is really the calm place they think it is or will it be an echo chamber for a certain persuasion? Trolls and wums will surely follow, you can't leave a rowdy pub and expect the pub next door to remain utopian for long? A similar thing happened with Facebook and if you ignore the rant and moaners it's still a useful media, twitter/x will also survive and already looks a calmer place post the mini exodus.

I read the Baz posts but hate to open the Hull Live links as it's so horrible to read, how can bluesky make Hull Live readable?
City are very prompt on twitter with lineups, how can bluesky improve this?
I follow a few football journalists on substack ie Henry Winter, as the broadsheets are now subscription, do you get these articles free on bluesky?

Funny you should post this, I could predict exactly who'd make a completely pointless post like this....

I don’t think people are switching to BlueSky to enter back into an echo chamber. In my experience they are doing it to avoid aggressive ****e adverts, the very weird algorithm for post selection that’s now used and the litany of one-subject bots. It probably won’t last as it is for long, but it’s good while it lasts.
