    Yesterday some people will know that I posted a link to a group of lads, one of whom is my mate, breaking a world record for the longest 5-a-side game(36 hours). They kicked off at 8am on Friday morning, and have around 20 hours remaining.

    I popped along to North Shields soccer dome at around 10 o clock and stayed for a while, the lads are going great! Great enthusiasm, the pace is decent, not at snails pace as I thought it would be. Many of them are still running about. It is all being recorded, every goal is being marked, they have physio's from Middlesbrough Football Club there and the players are getting special treatment when it is their turn to come off. The game is consistent, it never stops but there are subs every so often. One lad had to be taken to hospital, he saved a shot with his face and was basically knocked out, hopefully he can return.

    Sorry if you aren't interested, I just think this is pretty amazing.

    It's fantastic that they're doing this!

    The last time I played football (good few weeks ago now) I ran around solidly for 15 mins and then thought I was going to pass out.

    Aye. Its the first pitch as you walk through the doors. They have taken out the pitch next to it as well for all their stuff, physio beds and equipment. They will be 27 hours into it then, so don't complain about being tired anywhere near them <laugh>

    That's an amazing effort! I used to think an hour of five-a-side was one of the most tiring run outs you could get. 36 hours that is madness, fair play to them!
