So Nigel has said that there will be two new signings this week. Who do you think they are going to be. Do we want a veteran of the championship or a younger player. Which positions do you think he will strengthen? Personally i would like a new CB and a new striker/winger. Would like them both to have a bit of experience but not being too old.
Young or old, I don't care. As long as they have something different and good to offer the club then anyone will do
And he also said " We are working hard behind the scenes" suggesting we have already targeted players and just need to do the bizzo.
Well for sure it has to be a striker considering we went in for Sharp which obvioulsy failed to materialise. The 2nd player maybe a CB with a bit more experience than Martin and Seaborne. I take it Puncheon is a gonner so not sure if we will replace him espcially with Holmes coming back to life, possibly a loan winger if he does go. Looking forward to the coming week if the deals are pulled off.
Some how I can't see him making an announcement like that unless he was reasonably certain that they were done deals. Not normally his way. Will be interesting to see who they are!!
We were targeting players weeks ago. Doing the business is the hard part, i've been involved in countless business deals that have not gone through for one reason or another.
spot on beddy - NA never shows his hand, this makes me think he is really confident. he only admitted we had an offer accepted for cork and that one came off didnt it?
As I posted on the rumour mill thread, apparently a transfer fee has been accepted for at least one player and a contract will be offered on Adkins' return from Switzerland. I would like to see a centre half and a forward both of which will be proven in the Championship.
He's dropping further hints about new players in the most recent article on the OS... "The lads are going to be performing, and you never know, there might be one or two new players in addition to our fantastic football club by then. There's a lot of speculation about, and we've been working very hard behind the scenes."
