...... and who would they replace? I keep hearing that we've got a much weaker squad this season than last season. But how many of our leavers would you have back, & who would they replace? For me, you can only present a reasonable argument for Wood, perhaps Taylor, & less likely, Green. Briefly, re. the 3 volunteer leavers, I don't think we miss them as much as we like to think. I personally wouldn't want any of them back, whether they're (allegedly) better than current players or not. We move on. Wood - we're scoring as many, if not more, as a team this season. I wouldn't object to him still being in the team, but would he score as many as he did last season? I seriously doubt it. Not as many opportunities for a CF this season with our system. And more contribution required than perhaps he's capable of. Taylor - We miss his attacking thrust, but there's no way back for a scumbag who effectively took a season off IMO. Hopefully De Bock is the answer. Green - Weidwald's stats are better than Green, plus his distribution is nothing short of amazing. Not exactly one for the future. Better than Lonners, tbf. Current Squad Lonergan, Wiedwald, Peacock-Farrell, Ayling, De Bock, Cooper, Pennington, Anita, Jansson, Berardi, Shaughnessy, Alioski, O'Kane, Dallas, Hernandez, Sáiz, Phillips, Sacko, Vieira, Klich, Roofe, Lasogga, Grot, Cibicki, Ekuban I'd just like to add, before everyone goes to town on him, 19yo Grot was obviously brought in for the u23s. It's not his fault he's in the position he finds himself in. 2017/18 Leavers Green, Wood, Taylor, Bartley, Silvestri, Bellusci, Erwin, Botaka, Bridcuntt, Diagouraga, Whitehouse
Silvestri was ****e but better than either of the dangerous brothers. Green was years ahead of all of them Wood and Taylor would be ever present if still here. Bridcutt is every bit as good as any of the ****e we have as dms
I wouldnt have any of those back in fairness, even though Wood would have scored some of the ones Roofes missed, he would have created more too. However he wanted to leave so none of them. If we could have back players from earlier, we need some quality in midfield, to settle the team down, sort out passing and getting confidence back. Viera and Phillips are too in and out right now so a proper experienced DM? Also need a proper striker. Other than that I think we have a decent keeper a better defence when they sort out the overlapping problems as Ayling has now gone for a few weeks that should get sorted. Our new LB can bomb forward and defend so happy with what we have and the subs. Middle is full of creativity as long as Alioski plays right, Saiz and Pablo along with Foreshaw for the experience, cibicki should be tried up top, grot should be tried from the left? Why was Dallas given a 40 year contract only to find himself TCd like those Tommy falls out with. If Grot was brought in for the kids why are we still bringing in strikers for the kids, why isnt Clarke, Wilkes or Stokes given a chance instead of Grot?
Definitely Wood, Bartley & Taylor, think we could have been near top two if we could have retained them. Not followed what he is doing but anyone know if Taylor is playing regularly in the prem?
Assuming you were amusing yourself with Dallas’ 40 year contract, I think the main reason he hasn’t been played has been the injury he received on international duty but let’s not let facts disrupt the drama. Ffs Daily you post “I am hearing” type bullshit, you mean, someone on Twatter or HITC said, it’s shocking mate. If Clarke, Wilkes or Stokes are good enough they will rise to the top.
I wouldn't have any of them back - history - move on. The exception would be Bartley, but not sure, I think there is a touch of rose tinted spectacles
Silvestri because he is ****e, but still better than the two we have now. Taylor cos he was a greedy Cnut. Never said anything about wood, not even before last season.
Unfortunately I can't be arsed to trawl through all your anti Leeds United propaganda posts, so I can't argue with you on that point....
