All 8 people were happy to go to dinner... out of site of their apartments...and leave their children asleep/alone in a strange apartment!

The McCann’s apartment was in fact a second complex with a public alley running behind it. They could not even see the apartment or the bedroom where the kids slept.

I don't see why they're getting flak for leaving the kids on their own. It was standard practice when I was a boy. Butlin's had screens to flash up which chalet numbers had crying babies in them.

 

Aye but when you were a boy it was still acceptable to call your slave "Sambo"

 

Then I'm guessing there was paid carers monitoring the chalets so that such alerts could be raised?
