I found it very interesting and slightly frustrating that there has been no rumours as to who is going to come in and who is definitely leaving. Who would you like to see come in? Who are we 100% expecting to go? Who do we need to keep? Thoughts......
Not 100% sure on who I would like to see come in...I guess a great deal depends on who is going and what positions need strengthening. Just had a glance at which players contracts are expiring and there are a few that could do a job for us....any takers? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_GB1.html
really think we need the manager situation sorted first so I guess we need to wait for HR to make his mind up whether he can extort any more money out of TF...if he can't and he has a huff then he could be off to Brighton seeing as that suits his lifestyle....Now martinez seems on his way to Everton looks like that avenue closed up but never made a lot of sense....
I wouldn't take Jackson - I wouldn't necessarily definitely want but I wouldn't mind if we added as you say Brunt, Church but also Steven Reid, Jerome Thomas and Ryan Shotton. There was a thread before that I mentioned a few names, including Harry Forrester from Brentford. Kevin Doyle is available - if he's in form he's proven. Liam Bridcutt at Brighton is a MUST sign in my opinion. Neil Eardley - Blackpool also. All frees except Forrester.
Im more excited about seeing the back of players than any new signings. We have been linked to Dunne, the 33yo OG king of the PL whos forever injured.
Knowing our luck it'll be Cole, Bramble and Dunn... would love it to be Bridcutt, 24 (and as good as Parker at 32) but think he might go to a Premiership club
Of those out of contract, wouldnt mind us taking a punt on Lichaj or Gera. Rather we focused on trying to buy up some younger players or bring some up from League 1 or 2 rather than signing people who have been released.
Harry Forrester is available on a free transfer. Sign him up asap. He's a player with a lot of scope and a lot to prove. We need more of that type. I would assume Bridcutt would move to a Prem team but no harm in making him an offer. I hear we're in for Adam Smith from Spurs who would be ideal, with the experience of playing in the division last season. Jerome Thomas might be an option on the left, but I'd be concerned at his fitness levels over 46 league games.
we're not going to get anyone in until we know who is out and how much we have to play with. Harry won't be looking at any of these players, it will be Duff, Dunne, Shay Given and David Bentley. I want to know what is going on at the moment as everything has gone quiet. I hope personally that Harry walks and we can get on with things, i cant help but think he is asking for a lot of money to spend and this is causing TF to delay doing anything while he mulls it over. We need to start moving on NOW
Keep everyone we can and stop the name dropping and guessing IMO This lot just need a better technical manager to knock them into shape and if we start winning a few then this team will grow and believe
