It seems that the old 606 is being used less and less. Sport Witmess appears to have gone. Who of the Old School are on here, is it the best replacement site, and if not, which one is?

    Input appreeciated.

SW shut down? Can't say I'm surprised. Wasn't pulling in many members. I'm not one of the 'old school' but did use 606 for a long time before joining here.

I like this.A lot of the posters on here either got banned from 606 or left of their own accord,it may take a while before this takes off.

This is better now! For a while it was a bit wild until the MODS tamed some of the more aggresive posters! Ha!

Old skool. I think I first joined 606 in 2002. I remember the old format, anyway.

I checked sportwitness after I'd joined here, more out of curiosity than requirement as I was happy enough with this board, but I didn't like the format of it. It looked nice but I prefer these template forums. They all work the same for a reason: they've evolved that way by usage, not some web designer's idea of what a good site looks like.

606 a few years, same ID, not that long maybe 3 years. Mods got out of control there bigtime, political correctness at its best, oh and if you happen to be criticising the mods team, sometimes.. DELETED

Hardly surprising when the license payer is involved. I'm sure if the BBC were in court day after day spending our money defending the ignorant opinions of some Utd muppet who thinks accusing players of being *****s is big and clever we'd all get a bit sick of hearing about it on the BBC news. It may be heavy-handed at times but that's really a reaction to public, or rather media, reaction. Ross and Brand? Blue Peter competition?

Heh, I hardly ever listen to 606 but yesterday Green and Savage were taking calls and some bloke called to bemoan that we won yet there were calls for Capello to be sacked. Green said that nobody had demanded Capello be sacked, so the next call he took, the bloke says, "Capello should be sacked." Green and Savage fell about so the bloke had them on his side. When Green asked what he'd called for the bloke goes, "I just wanted to say vagina." I think because the bloke had got them both onside with a laugh they didn't realise what was going on so Green asked him, "What?" So he said it again. Green then had to issue an apology because you know they'd have received complaints.
