Wigan get an apologetic phone call - and what looked like a huge sympathy vote from the lino who conveniently ignored one of the season's most blatant handballs last night to ensure Wigan got a win. Whereas our blind linesman at Old Trafford not only handed United a goal but effectively ended the game with the sending off, as well as depriving us of a player for our next game - and ensuring our whole team were knackered after running round Old Trafford for 75 minutes with 10 men. And not so much as an admission of failure or an apology from the refs association. And while we're about it, where was the apology for the goal that was never given at Bolton? Seems to me the FA are keen to go out of their way to placate poor ickle Wigan. While they're happy to rub our noses in it. Double standards anyone?
In answer to your post title, rearrange these words to form a well know English phrase: "Don't hold breath your"! The first correct entry gets to go and watch MOTD from last night - again!
In the much colder light of day, weeks after the event, and with the hope of survival budding, I am actually ok with that decision. There was a lot of goal mouth congestion and Pollock could not give what he did not actually see. Goal line technology or another official is possible whereas expecting Pollock to see all is not.
Neutral here...... I think the FA have phoned Swansea and apologised for letting Mackie carry on and score when he was clearly offside and for not giving Swansea a penalty when whatever his name is, handled seconds before he scored the 3rd 'goal'. Cheers
Is that gender neutral? Clearly not a penalty but definitely offside. Think Mackie got away with it as he came back into players rather than pushing on into space which creates a different impression to the norm.
It seems the ref at Stamford Bridge was "stepped down" from the Blackburn v Liverpool game and Wigan get an apology. We get no apology for last Sunday or the Bolton "goal" and what happens to the 2 refs in those incidents, they get lovely trips to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-finals of course!! The FA are mad, I'm actually quite glad we never got the 2018 World Cup now, in hindsight, it would have just highlighted how completely useless our FA really is and we'd have been the laughing stock of world football.
Whoever said, All you need is a "fair ref for the remaining games" best quote of the week! Coming from a nuetral an "unbiased one" NO Penalty last night but offside.. yes but we've all had things go for and against us like that one.. so close the Lino missed it. As for the Derry Red Card.. utterly insane decision to send the lad off!
