..that were going to be made? The premier clubs have now submitted there squads, but there is still no sign of any new activity at Portman Road. Was PJ and Co just fobbing us off to keep us quiet? The only player we seem to be possibly signing is a French/Tunisian winger/defender/forward/groundsman who seems to model himself on the Ben Thatcher school of charm.
And who said jewell was not doing his job......... http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21448/smith-due-back-at-club-today
Im pretty sure he didnt say he was expecting a lot of loans so not sure where 'all these loans' come from. I would imagine a maximum of 2 players will join on loan, depending on outgoing players We have had 2 players here on trial this week - both can play in defence Its pointless have a loan player arrive too early due to the 93 day maximum time limit. I would rather the right loan rather than any loan so not too bothered yet but within the next week Im hopefully. We do have options as Ainsley and the loan player can play in the centre so its not ideal but it doesnt mean we only have 2 players at central defence.
Does anyone know the league rules regarding loans? We already have three players on loan, how many are we allowed on the pitch at any one time? I (for some reason) think it's 4 but if someone knows more then please enlighten us/me. Also I'm inclined to agree with tractor bhoy, there isn't much point bringing anyone in until the last minute on Friday night so we have them well into December, I remember when Collins left last season and we were in a pickle because of it. I have (possibly misplaced) optimism that PJ can get at least one person in
Not sure I would call it a shambles JWM. We do have options for every position just not load of them.
Spanish, you can always question whether someone is good enough, even Barcelona/ Man Utd fans do that. I was just saying we do have players available whose recognised positions can cover the 11 available spaces on the pitch. If your going on quality then I would suggest that there are questions marks over half the team!
So now Moshni has fudged off back to France. Good riddance I say...obviously the £10 a week in luncheon vouchers was not good enough for him.
The thing is tractor bhoy, its so bloody annoying that this once great club is being destroyed. How long have we needed a new cb, ****ing ages and still we wait, add to this the fact that we released our only back up and you realise that our boss hasn't got a clue. I hope Jewell has something lined up but i doubt it, i cant see how anyone can defend this piss poor management.
Wish I knew what was going on Spanish, Its easy enough to lay the blame at Jewell or Clegg but without knowing ME's intentions/ input its hard too see if there is incompetence or a very difficult set of guidelines. Im glad Delaney has gone as I considered him a waste of space but thought we only let him go to enable his wages to be spent on a replacement. Im hoping that that didnt happen due to the time restraints of the window but that we can tie up the 'loan with a view to a long term deal' in the near future. No matter how bad people think our management is, I dont think anybody actually thinks he is stupid enough to think we can survive with so little.
It makes the decision to release our only cover at Centre Back even more incompetent but then again what do you expect with Jewell!
This German fella sounds like he could be the sort of player we are looking for, 23 and 6ft5 but something about the twtd article puzzles me somewhat "The 23-year-old 6ft 5in tall centre-half or midfielder, capped at U19, U20 and U21 levels by Germany, moved to his most recent club in" January 2008 but had his contract ripped up recently after he received threats from fans of his own club online, then more concerningly was attacked at a funfair and threatened at his home." That seems a little bit odd so I did some further reading (bored at work) and found this http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature/_/id/1156182/uersfeld:-a-story-of-shattered-dreams?cc=5739# Still doesn't make a lot of sense to me but he seems he played at a pretty high standard before and to be honest everything about him seems to fit the bill we are looking for
I have a feeling Delaney wanted out, rather than being pushed so we let him go. Looks like we got Kourouma and I hope we get this mountain of a german for defence. Wasn't ever bothered about Mohsni so he can just take his ****ty attitude elsewhere, I think we dodged a bullet on that one.
