So what value do we put on Deeney's head?

The BBC is reporting that Ross McCormack has joined Fulham for a fee believed to be £11 million, so how much do we value Deeney with his proven Championship scoring record for past two seasons?. It would be hard to believe that he would comand a fee significantly below Ross McCormack given his age etc.

    £10,000,000 min.

I hope he stays one more season and gives it one last shot at the Prem with Watford. However, if he goes now for a decent fee, who could blame him. He's not engineering a move away and said he's happy here and up to the owners if they sell. That is to be commended really. If he goes after this season, fair play, I'd want to play at the top level if I were him.

This season he could be priceless for us.

Ross McCormack had refused to go to the training camp and fell out with the owner. Knowing that any club would try and get the player on the cheap. If that is on the cheap, which I don't think it is, Deeney's value to another team is X and to WFC XX

I think Fulham have more money than sense. If they paid GBP11 millions.

I will be surprised if he does go. The Pozzos seem to be going all out to assemble a team to win promotion. They have invested £5M in the new stand, wheeled and dealed to get Vydra and Tozier back, and must be hoping that BS can weld the talent into a team. Having made the investment they will be hoping to fill the ground and win promotion. My judgement in their shoes would be to at least keep him until January and see how things work out.

troy knows that he owes the owners , club and the fans so much .And we will always be a part of his heart no matter were he is playing. We played away at barnsey and they beat us 1-0 and that made it very hard for us to go up . As the players left the field a few waved to us (most just left the field ) but troy came over to the fans and gave his shirt to one of the girls . He will always be a true Watford player

I'm afraid that loyalty counts for nothing in the mad bad world of professional football. If an offer comes in from a club that interests Deeney and that offer is acceptable to the Pozzos (or even if it isn't), then very little will keep him at Watford, no matter how much he "owes" to the club. He owes nothing to the fans - but everything to himself and his family.

He would be like so many other players who flash across the Vicarage Road scene and subsequently depart for so-called better pastures.

Very true about most players but what I was trying to get across was troy did not have to give his shirt to that fan. Its easy to do nice things for the fans on good days but to think of the fans on bad day and no other play did .

His head ? Not that much to be honest. He doesn't score many with it and has failed to engage brain in the past.

Throw in his legs and the rest of him - 7.5 million plus generous add-ons.

I don't think he does owe the club now really - they gave him a second chance and he's repaid it wth 2 very good seasons. And, of course, if he was to leave in this window the club will make money.

As far as the team is concerned for next season I think he's priceless to us. If Beppe irons out the problems then a fit Troy is going to have an enormous say in whether we go up.

It would a major blow to get all these players in and then lose our talisman - be like having Abdi injured almost all last season.

I just hope if we are to sell Deeney its not on August 31st at 10.59pm or whatever!

£6.5m from Leicester turned down today! Wobby says 'considerably less than the club's valuation of the player'

Anyone rate Chris Wood? Could be surplus at Leicester and be used as a makeweight?

Probably do a job for us...

We would need to replace Deeney if he went.
