No, I don't belong to Apple or Microsoft or Nasa but I'm pretty sure it can be sorted...Do you not think there is the technology? Just think, the billions that is being spent on debating it could be spent creating the technology so we can get on for what the people voted for........I believe it's all a delaying tactic and the people are being conned into remaining. Most of parliament voted to remain, so it was always going to be flaky.......The people voted....the people should be obeyed....that's democracy..
Do I think there is the technology to monitor every single person going across a 310 mile border with more road crossings than the entire EU border, without even knowing who they are, while simultaneously investigating every little product they bring in and out of that massive border without becoming some sort of 1984 state? I think you're insane if you believe it does exist!
Do you not think if it exists they would be using it? Or at least incorporating it into the plan rather than just leaving it open? It's absolute lunacy.
This is the desperation no deal'ers are at now. Just 'believing' something exists with absolutely zero proof and praying to god that they're right.
I think we should have a referendum on moving the UK to the moon. If we win, democracy MUST be obeyed. What? It's impossible you say? Nah, the technology must exist. We've got people on the moon before! Are you seriously telling me we couldn't get 65,000,000 people there if we just put the money used for debating this into actually getting people to the moon. You just don't believe in this country enough.
.... and herein lies the root of the trouble Onefor. We have a situation where our ‘first past the post’ system of day to day democracy is in conflict with a one-off referendum - where every vote counts - a bit like Proportional Representation would be.
Both systems are democratic, but they don’t live well alongside each other. The MPs represent their constituents, so in the case of the Scottish and London MPs for example they are doing just that by frustrating the process. Then you have the issue of electoral boundaries - where you might have one MP representing a large number of Brexiteer voters but several MPs representing smaller constituenties which voted Remain. And then there’s Corbyn - who just wants to stab May every chance he gets because he wants to get into no’ 10. To be fair to him that’s the Opposition’s job.
You also have an unlikely alliance between the supporters of a Hard Brexit (like Rees-Mogg for example) and Remainers - who both want to see May’s deal fail, one to force a Hard Brexit and the other to try and somehow kill Brexit altogether.
Just what the people who voted Brexit actually want isn’t clear; do most want a deal? Or do most want a ‘Hard ‘ Brexit? I think the demographics on this forum are pretty clear in favour of a Hard Brexit, but is that replicated across the nation? Who knows!
This should have been planned out before the referendum took place in the first place.
I think it’s scandalous that the will of the people was overruled with the ban on the naming of Boaty McBoatface.

But even that is possible..........blimey, can you imagine the people 40 years ago laughing if one was to suggest that people could walk about without cables using a phone....Computers the size of a small book and not the size of an office being able to search the world and calculate anything .......................nah can't be done!!
All of that happens now and that is being part of the EU........Like with virus's, hackers and greed, there will always be a way......

Yes but the EU borders don't have the Good Friday Agreement preventing them from having checkpoints..... that's literally the point.
I don't know about general opinion but I voted to leave, the referendum was offered by a vote in parliament to the people by the very same MP's that are now filching it away from us, they are thieves pinching our democratic right, the peoples right to leave.
I understand the pro's and con's of leaving, project fear has no effect on me, I am and always have been prepared for some changes in lifestyle, some small discomforts, if I need extra income I'll do what I always have done and get off my fat ass and earn it, even at my age, as far as I am concerned the fat, arrogant, unelected, white buffoons in Brussels can shrivel on the vine, we don't need them.
My preference is leave and it will remain so, all problems can and will be overcome, I am proud enough and old enough to have listened to John Lennon, he said, " There are no problems, only solutions" he was right, so give peace a chance.

It looks like I picked a stellar time to return to the UK. All I will say is that (as someone who did not vote), everyone says the UK will be screwed by the EU if we leave, so why are the EU so pi$$ed off we're leaving? The UK has long been the scourage of most of Europe, precious few of these countries like us - so why are they holding on so tight, could it just be that they will be every bit as screwed by us leaving?
If the EU implodes after we leave (and there is a chance it will), we will be left open to re-negotiate terms.
Looking from a far, I agree with Wiz, it seems Project Fear from the remain camp is doing a very good job on a lot of people. Anybody remember the Y2K fear campaign as well........

The good Friday agreement was set up by humans. Humans would be able to set up an amended agreement. I imagine there was a Roman empire agreement that has since been amended....it is possible and more possible than sending 65000 to the moon, I'm sure!!

EU is pissed off we're leaving because they will be far worse off without us. It works both ways. We are better together.
Y2K was not Project Fear whatsoever! It was a genuine problem which was only averted by proper planning and extremely competent people working hard to avoid the issue. You know.... everything that Brexit hasn't been.
So the IRA don't want a border, but to do checks on people and goods we need a border. That's the issue. It's basic logic/maths.
Unless you're telling me that because we sent people to the moon that means we can now circumvent maths?
It’s seriously important topic and highly emotive - feelings run high on this BECAUSE it’s so important, but it’s also important that we don’t start attacking each other on here - or the debate will simply get lost. 
Gents, you're sat here thinking that pesky EU have bullied us and that the Government are avoiding a border with Ireland (allowing unlimited illegal immigrants in) just for the banter, that they can in fact solve it using 'technology' (which none of you can describe by the way), and that this is all just a mad conspiracy, doesn't that tell you something? Don't you think that you might be.... you know.... wrong?

Well it seems we agree to disagree.........I believe it's possible and just because i don't have the technology tucked away in my bedside drawer, it doesn't exist....I believe in my mind it wouldn't be a problem with the techno nerds out there...my mind is satisfied that it is possible, but cheesed off that we've had 2 years that has been wasted in implementing it...
