After learning Torres is stitching us up, I couldnt help but draw similarities to your situation with Rooney, and indeed Man City's with Tevez. When Rooney showed his true colours, most United fans turned against him (rightfully so), but now he is still there, all appears to have gone quiet. What I am getting at with this article, is what do you guys deep down think of him? When a player publically wants to leave, but stays, as a fan you're almost compelled to support him for the good of the team. I can't do that with Torres; do you reckon Wayne will go in the summer, and that Fergie merely secured a large fee by keeping at the club this season? Players ay!! No loyalty anymore. Without Carragher, Scholes, Giggs and that right back, our clubs are merely platforms for mercinaries. I blame Sky.
Last season it was all Rooney, well the 1st half anyway, and Berb was getting a raw deal. This season the tables are turned I really believed there was another twist and that Fergie was all to calm about the outburst. Seemed a good opportunity to put a few more quid on his value and sell him on through the window. Seems like yet again I got Fergie wrong and Rooney is going no where. Big difference over the last few months is Rooney is still sweating blood while Torres looks like a smacked child.
No there is loyalty in the game anymore. And tbh I dont really care if I am honest. At the end of the day if something goes drastically goes wrong with rooney then the club wont think twice to sell him, why should the player be any different.
still don't like him, he's overpaid & overrated. i said at the time he'd have to get a hat-trick every week to earn the money he gets. i'd like to see him go overseas.
Largre fee? who would want to pay 40m plus for rooeny who has been awful. The difference is Torres wants chelsea and wayne wanted more money
So 100k a week is not enough? its a disgrace if I was at for instance Man Utd a better club than City and City offered me 500k a week I would still stay at Man Utd as 100k is more than enoug, plus Man Utd are the much better team. More history, popularity, fan base and prestige. All this greed in football will tear our sport apart. Why does the government, do a lets say UNICEF tax for the over 100ks, a extra 25% tax to give to charities and children all around the world who live in poverty and barley can live. As if more than 10k a week is not enough. That type of money is more than enough for one human being. I feel an extra tax all around the world for all leagues for players who earn stupid amounts should be taxed lets say a UNICEF TAX. If they are going to get this disgusting amount of money, then at least it could be used to help charities like Cancer research and UNICEF as examples.
