Ok - I bought a multi gym (cheaper than monthly gym membership). I am not a fitness freak but do need to start getting fitter and healthier and all that ****.

As I want to build some muscle (not much though) - I was looking at whey protein and creatine supplements but guess what? I know **** all about either product and do you use just one or both or neither or alternative etc?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A load of bollocks if you don't eat correctly but I like it

    Nice in porridge too

My advice would be to start slowly and dont listen to anyone.

They'll instantly start saying **** like it won't work if you don't eat right or your form is poor and basically make you feel negative and have doubts . The reality is if your new just ear healthier and do some training and you'll get results... over time you'll figure the rest out yourself. Most people in the gym are idiots.

    It's quite simple

    I CAN I WILL

Because he asked about suppliment and I advised what I use.

I've given a little tip to ignore the idiots putting negative thoughts in his mind too early .

And your not picking over my choice of protein powder .

Squats, chins, dumbell shoulder press and bench press. Do those for a month and watch the difference.

    Haha.

Barbell squat - you squat with a barbell on your shoulders. Full body exercise which stimulates growth hormone and all over body strength. Best leg exercise going. Strengthens your lower back and tightens your backside.

Chin - Pull up. You use your body strength to touch your chin to the bar. One of the best strength exercises out there. Works your biceps, shoulders, chest, upper back, traps.

Shoulder press - You hold dumbells in each hand and press above your head. Best shoulder exercise. Also grows your triceps.

Bench press - Lie on a bench and press a barbell or two dumbells. Works your chest, shoulders and triceps.

Don’t listen to me mate but what I would do is start with YouTube and find a channel that helps beginners understand the basics. Also somebody like Jeff Cavaliere to show you correct form because despite what some experts claim, the last thing you wanna do is the wrong technique and get injured.

Then get My Fitness Pal, Track your nutrition and see what you need more/less of to reach your target.

Keep a diary of what you’re lifting because you may not see gains in the mirror before you see them on paper.

Rest plenty, drink plenty of water and most importantly, don’t listen to anybody.

Press means you are extending your arms. So shoulder/ bench press you are lifting a weight up and away from your body and then lowering it back to the starting position. Don't lock your arms. Keep the tension on the muscle.

Always start light and gradually increase weight. If you want to gain mass, heavier weights and lower reps. Tone - higher reps and lighter weight. Just do what works best for you. Different people respond to different methods.

Rest is vital. You will be tearing muscle. The strength increase/ muscle growth comes from the muscles repairing themselves. That's where your protein intake comes in to play.

To gain mass - Consume more calories than you burn.
