Of our fantastic away support, what a noise they made, each and every one of you should be given the freedom of the kp lol. If we could create that at home id look forward to every game, i know we cant,as all the standers/singers are dottedd about all over the stadium, but i do have to say its getting alot better lately. Apparently there was no police escort for our fans either, so how does that work that were "high risk" then??? still not to worry, justice was done in the end, and my 2 NCFC mates, and those who have commented on foxestalk, have all been nothing but gracious in defeat. On a personal level i have no prob with Norwich, but i have to say that the ticket debacle was nothing short of scandalous, so as ive said on other posts, on that score they got what they deserved(end of rant honest). Cant make Derby on thurs as im working, but really looking forward to chav now, was hoping they would be in a position where we could relegate them, but alass you cant have everything lol. Anyway, once again, a massive massive big up to our fantastic away fans, truly magnificent!!! HIGH RISK, YOUR HAVIN A LAUGH
I live in German & only get to see it on a STREAM, be proud of me too SF ? I was´nt high risk honest. I just sat still & watched & said "GET IN THERE" 3 times & YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES ! to the win. The next round maybe on German sport TV if it´s v a 'big club' I can watch it with the kids but it may not be good viewing ??? "NIGEL PEARSON´S BLUE & WHITE ARMY"
Well done to all fans that went (i couldn't go so listen to it on radio), you done every LCFc supporter who couldn't go proud. I got to agree with Alan young our man of the match were the Fans Best chant was ' your ground to small for us'
the fa and police only get involved if the club raises the issue this was blatent looking after next years season ticket sales. anyway it got our fans and our team going so cheers delia you can go and make some humble pie now
Err, you obviously don't understand the way ticket allocation works. This had nothing to do with the club, it was all on the police's recommendations and the FA took the final decision. Judging by reports about Leicester fans on the train, it might have been justified. And there is no need to look after Norwich's season ticket sales... we have a waiting list running to thousands! The idea that this somehow has something to do with Norwich is ludicrous- we were quite happy to give every other club their full allocation, especially ones with a better reputation for away support than yours. Yeah, your team played very well, congratulations. They certainly justified their price tags and you sound like you've finally got a manager who'll take you forward. If you can produce performances like that consistently you'll be in the premier league in no time. I'm sure one or two of the more vocal Norwich fans are, indeed, eating humble pie. The vast majority of Norwich fans know we're very lucky to be where we are in the table and only the foolish ones don't recognise that the supposed "gulf" in class between the Championship and Premier league is non-existent. That being said, I think posters like you have really let down your club. The gloating from you really makes you sound like Leeds fans when they beat Man U. And for, the record, we are a long way from being Man U- we're two clubs of a similar size, been through similar struggles recently, but both look to be on the up! A bit of mutual respect wouldn't have gone amiss. In particular, the accusation that us Norwich fans have been bitter is a complete joke, especially when only a couple of weeks ago we had Sunderland fans saying we were gracious in defeat. I think there is some misunderstanding about what actually is "bitterness" in defeat. For evidence of that, look no further than Colin W***er, he is the prime example. Being bitter is blaming luck, injuries, the sunlight, the wind, the pitch, the other team for cheating (unless it's really serious) and just generally claiming you were the better team and deserved to win. I personally, correct me if I'm wrong, haven't seen a single Norwich player suggest we deserved to win. Far from it. You were the much better team and could easily (and possibly should if FIFA had allowed goal-line technology) have won 3 or 4-1. HOWEVER, it is not bitter to say "we played badly". That was a fact, we did play badly. Considering who we put out on the pitch, at home, we should have won. Saying that our team played badly is NOT being bitter. Of course, credit has to be given to you guys for shutting us down, but I think that's exactly what playing badly means. Were you expecting us to say "yeah, we were magnificent despite the pass completion rate of 50% and the loss at home to a team we should technically be beating"? Fact is you played brilliantly (especially defensively) and thoroughly deserved the win. Now we'd be very grateful if you'd just leave us alone from the gloating.
Juding by reports on the train? There was one Norwich fan who boarded a train full of Leicester fans. He and his two young children were offered seats and the man was given a beer and the children were offered sweets. High risk fans? My arse are we! Also i've seen no end of Norwich fans claiming to have played a 'weakened' side and that if they were 'playing a full first team' they'd have won it comfortably. Fact is we both made 4 changes from our last game.
There were reports of a scuffle. I don't know the details and I'm not the judge or jury. But if the reports are true, the police might be able to justify classifying Leicester fans as "high risk". If the reports aren't true, fair enough you've got a right to be annoyed- but not with us. Be annoyed with the FA and the police for basing it on something that happened five years ago. We also had reports of trouble from Chelsea fans a few weeks ago, I don't know if that had any impact.
A 'scuffle'? You mean like the 'scuffle' in Leicester's city centre between Norwich and Leicester fans that led to 9 Norwich fans retained in prison for the evening and 2 Leicester fans? You're as high risk as we are. No doubt this 'scuffle' began with and involved Norwich fans, yes?
We did play a weakened side. Holt is our stand-out striker, obviously. Surman is in imperious form. Ruddy is 6/4 for an England call up on the basis of his PL performances. Naughton is our most technically gifted defender. Are you suggesting that we didn't play a weakened team? Judging by Proud-Fox's line up of your best team before the match, Konchesky aside you put out a full strength squad. Obviously that's his personal opinion, but I understand you had a couple of players coming back from injury. Now I don't claim to know your team, and I'm sure your team wasn't full strength (whose is at this stage of the season?), but you hardly dropped your four best players. That being said, I haven't seen any Norwich fan suggesting we would win if we had those players. I think we would have had a better chance. On our performance and yours, I'm not sure it would have made a huge difference, anything can happen. Especially as on the day you were quite a lot better and as I said we were fortunate to only lose 2-1. The only comments I;ve seen is that with Holt and Surman in we wouldn't have looked so energetic and would ahve retained the ball better. Doesn't mean we would have won.
I'm sure you're right. But as I said, this is not our fault. Blame the police and the FA. Like you can blame FIFA for a lack of goal line technology not giving you the one that probably crossed the line.
I'm not suggesting you didn't play a weakened side. But we were without Danny Drinkwater who has won man of the match in his last 3/4 games, Sol Bamba who has been our players of the season, Paul Gallagher who scored both goals last weekend to beat high flying Cardiff and we also had Mills and Koncheskey on the bench who has been very good under Pearson.
Ah but Drinkwater and Gallagher are injured right? Well if we're going to play that game I'll go and list all our injuries... Also, considering how your CBs played I imagine Mills is going to struggle to get his place back. Bamba is obviously quality though and I already mentioned Konchesky. But seriously, as I said, saying we played badly is NOT us being bitter. It is just a statement. You played very well and were more than good value for the win. And no, our teams was not a "reserve" team as such, so you have every right to feel proud of the victory. All I'm asking is that you rein in the one or two gloaters, who have been amongst the worst this season (along with Tottenham fans), and leave us to criticise our players and performance in peace. I would have hoped that a club that has been through what you have, like us, with our roughly equal size, would have a little more respect.
I agree by saying that you playing bad isn't bitter. But saying all this 'if only we had so and so playing' smacks of bitterness. I had maximum respect of Norwich going into yesterdays game and the pre match threads because they achieved what we're all trying to do here now but you do have a lot of arrogant fans. Has that comes with the success you've earned? I'm not sure, probably. Either way it's left my opinion on you tarnished. (If you look on one of your boards own threads you'll know that I asked Glynak to reel himself in a bit)
I'm not convinced: if we had Cristiano Ronaldo playing we would have been better is a fact. It doesn't mean we would have won. Most likely he would have had a strop anyway... In the same way if we say "if Grant Holt had played we would have been better", well that's clearly a fact too- he's our best player. It's not saying we would have won. As I said, we would have needed a vastly improved performance, not just a couple of individuals, to beat you yesterday considering your domination. It's not blaming the ref or something exterior not in our control, it's really blaming ourselves for getting the team selection wrong. No one has a right to be arrogant, and every team has a few idiots. As I said, any Norwich fan that's getting ahead of themselves obviously has a VERY short memory. However, the fact is we are a league above you, don't look like going down and were at home where our record has been good. On paper, we should have won. That's not arrogance, that's just plain and simple fact. However, games aren't played on paper and your victory was deserved. If your opinion of some Norwich fans is tarnished, fine, but you have to accept that teams in a league above you are going to expect to beat you, even though the actual margin between the squads isn't that great. Fair enough, but if you're going to suggest your opinion of Norwich fans is lowered, that's nothing to what fans like him have made you come across as. Which is a shame, because as I said I think Leicester and us have had similar recent history and we didn't deserve it.
