Finishing again let us down again. Defence was all over the place. Midfield was overrun. Positives? The window opens soon. As for the correct line-up, I don't think there was one tbh. As Funk has pointed out on another thread, Sam was basically forced to play an unfit Coates as our full backs are so ****e defensively we need 3 CBs. But it backfired and needed changing. Who's to say we wouldn't have conceded just as many or more if we'd started with a flat back 4?
To be fair, you played against a team that achieved its aim in getting rid of their manager and now wanted to prove a point.
are you guys blind, second half we came out fighting and save for crap shooting should have been level oh and watmore was fouled so many times and not one yellow was given to the prima donnas,and costa should have been off for diving in the box, we were given fouls against us for dirty looks
Defoe and Watmore look like they will come good, Borini too. Chances were missed but at least we are getting chances, last season a shot on goal was a welcome site. Right team? not for me, we need to learn to play with 4 at the back so we can utilise our pace and attacking options, playing 5 defenders means we have to sacrifice an attacking player. Hopefully the window will help solve the problem which is our defenders are ****e.
Outplayed in the first half by which time it was all over. I still maintain not many teams could handle Chelsea when they perform like they did at the start.
See we're ok out wide and to a large extent up front but there's no defensive depth at the back and the only two cm's that look capable of playing with Yann are injured. It showed in the match imo clear as day, we won't stay up on half a team, we were scrappy and wasteful against a chelsea team who were cruising after already having put the game to bed. A few chances isn't going to blind me to the problems everywhere else on the pitch.
The question is, does Ivanovic et al having their best game since last season prove they couldn't be arsed for Jose, or are Sunderland just absolute ****e? I'd gamble on the latter. I still think Chelsea are there for the taking, and Sundeland need a couple of decent signings or players back to full fitness. Either way, that is the first time this season a team has gone to the bridge and pissed themselves.

Chelsea we're unstoppable out of the blocks and had the game won inside 20 minutes. They'd chew anyone up playing that and they haven't played like that all season. Oh they could be arsed alright. Made their point very quickly. Just cruised it for 70 minutes after that, let us have possession and just stayed organised while we huffed and puffed with energy, trying and failing to string some passes together. So both. Chelsea players ****ed Jose over. Eyes and a basic knowledge of football leave no doubt. And we're ****e, but everyone already knew that.
Doesn't help all the other teams we need to lose are winning... Bournemouth, Norwich, the Mags, sucks losing but when the other teams are pushing on and leaving you behind, defo makes it harder :/
