Shelvey was never ever a red, got the ball but as Evans had kicked it at the same time his foot was redirected into Evans and Evans foot into Shelvey. Clear as day coming together. We scream red for these things because we are getting done for lesser fouls but in the end it's turning into a womens sport, actually womens football is tougher especially when you're playing the USA :)

These superstars get paid 200k a week, I therefor expect some putting of the body on the line, police officers get fk all and risk life, firefighters.. need I go on.

Fookin little girls most of em. Sick of it and the nannyism taking over the game. We don't want leg breaker Lucas Neil coward tackles like RvPs against us with the straight leg, far worse than Shelvey's offence.

If both players go for a ball instead of one going to protect themselves it usually turns out ok even though Evans feigned nicely to enhance chances of a red, neither were hurt both went for the ball. When one goes in straight leg studs up, that's a measure of self preservation and cowardice as with RvP but he's a forward and can't tackle but tried to make sure he didn't get hurt by tackling like that, he knew it was risky hence the self preservation at the expense of a risk of smashing the other players leg. if both go for it, collision of heads apart, it usually turns out ok so the problem is attitude to tackling and having BALLS

Tell me this, who ever has played even a kick around.

HOW MUCH CONTROL OVER A BALL CAN YOU HAVE WITH A STRAIGHT LEG AND STUDS OUT <laugh>

Returning to Rooney - the press love him because he is English, plays for a team who have had success recently and because occasionally (very) he changes games.

As utd's decline continues they will pick holes in him and other utd players in a more balanced way.

Not that Rooney will care - he will be one if the first to jump ship - Christ he has already tried to leave once and bottled it!?

What do you expect, he is a scouser and had heard about United`s decline. When someone told him it had been going on for the last 20 years he realised he had been listening to deluded hopefull people and changed his mind <ok>

    1. utd played really poorly but still won.

2 utd keep flogging goals at the back,

    3. bastos for them was playing far better passes than rooney

    4. if this is utd's answer to the dilemma of how to play rvp and rooney they are in trouble.. you should sell ronney and but some more top players from other rivals... oh like aguergo, yaya, and half of arsenal...
