The Sun printed a whole host of unchecked South Yorkshire Police lies after they got caught out deliberately fabricating the story about fans breaking down gates. They also, disgustingly, sent reporters dressed as doctors and nurses to try and trick interviews from the greiving. Scum. Yet all the outraged establishment figures involved did.... nothing. Weak argument. If the queen had to live on her own means the interest in tourism would not decline in the slightest. People don't visit the UK because the queen is publicly financed.
Well it just so happens that the entire Royal family receives £40million or so a year which is used for official Royal business. She then makes close to £15million a year herself through various means. She also has assets of £40+billion which are hers until she passes them down. A huge amount of our tourist industry is down to the royal family, we dont have much in the way of beaches and are not exactly the Alps here are we. People come to see our history and the monarchy as its the most famous in the world by some way. So £40million of our taxes goes to them......... thats £1 for ever able bodies person of working age. You wouldnt even notice a difference if they were not here. Still, we should make them do the robot dance for a living

The royal family already have a leg up on the rest of us simply by being who they are... that is bound to give them more opportunity to earn money than you or I. To go ahead and fund them after they already have such an advantage is ludicrous. I'm not talking about going all french on them and chopping their heads off: n Trafalgar square... just saying don't give them any more money... make them earn it. They can even continue calling themselves their silly titles of prince, king, queen, grand poo-bar, whatever. The average tourist doesn't see the queen. Nor expect to. London, York, Bootle, Buckingham palace, these places won't cease to exist if we stop funding the royals... nor will the tourists that come to see them

I Do not support the S*n but I can see why they did it. It looks absolutely absurd that every newspaper in the whole world has published the photos but yet the people of GB are not allowed to see them in the papers. We can only see them on the Internet. Clearly a stupid situation. Anyway these people and their security SHOULD have made sure that no photos are taken when these things arise. Amateurs.
