...he didn't play. http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/22658/ndaw-arrested Notice how twtd don't allow posting on stories like this and the Taylor case.
I think they are being cautious about getting sued! I saw something on twitter saying that N'Daw had been arrested, but I didn't want to post anything until I heard more proof. I suppose the only bright side is that he isn't actually our player... hopefully the incident isn't too serious
He has done well for us in our time of need but I'm not overly bothered about signing him permanently.
"The 28-year-old was arrested on Friday evening after a woman received treatment for bruising and minor injuries, police said." Third time in a few weeks that our club finds itself in the BBC's top stories for a negative story. Sounds like he's a wife beater...
He has now been charged. http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/ipswich_guirane_n_daw_charged_with_assault_1_1981781
Detained in custody too... Obviously innocent until proven guilty, of course, but I've got no time for scumbags that beat up on women...
This will explain why he didn't feature in the squad for yesterday's game. He was arrested in Ipswich on Friday and will appear at Ipswich magistrates court tomorrow. first we have the Paul Taylor saga and now N'Daw. Maybe Mick should bring in Joey Barton and go for the hat-trick! This episode just drags the good name of the club into the gutter and IF he is found guilty he will obviously not be playing for Town ever again. Excellent banner btw and I applaud the mods for making this happen.
Absolutely JWM, but given the club said it was a domestic incident and the police are saying a woman has been battered, and that the arrest is for assault, it is hard to see what other explanations there could be.
Indeed, the Golden Thread that runs though our Criminal Law, innocent until proven guilty and it is up to the prosecution to prove guilt...
N’Daw and Taylors’ charges are a bit worrying. The CPS are usually somewhat cautious about the type of charge in this sort of case with regard to their success rate in court. When they consider ABH, if they don’t think they have a very decent case to get it to stick they’ll demote it to common assault. That’s why many accuse them of being lily-livered wimps by passing off some apparently quite serious thuggery as mere common assault. Taylor is charged with GBH, which is the next thing down from attempted murder. GBH is frequently brought when the CPS have grudgingly abandoned an attempted murder charge, which for obvious reasons needs pretty rock-solid evidence of a particular kind in order to pass muster compared with a less serous charge that doesn’t carry life. I obviously don’t know the details of either case and for all I know the CPS didn’t consider either higher charge at all. I merely point this out because I worry about these things and we may never see neither hide nor hair of these two again in an Ipswich shirt. At least Wordsworth will be back for pre-season!
Nowhere was I assuming guilt, I was just commenting on the seriousness of the charges. If they are found guilty then fans not wanting to see them play for the club again is obvious and certainly Taylor’s sentence should see him well past his (by this time notional) contract with us!!
