I realise this probably isn't the best time to bring it up, what with the lunatics running the asylum and all that, but I've just had a thought. Your're now half through your three year deal and I was wondering if you would be good enough to consider extending your stay for another couple of years with Hull Thingy. We'll make sure if we have new owners in April they honour any new contract and promise your press interviews will only concern footballing matters. You've proved once again what a good football manager you are. You could of course walk away with your head held high knowing you've delivered what you set out to achieve and with your personal wealth enjoy life to the full. Sorry for the cock-up on the name change front but hopefully that'll be resolved in a few months time. You've started something special here and I hope you will stick it out and take us to the next level. Regards, Private Baldrick
What has achieved in the last 18 months will NOT have gone unnoticed elsewhere. Hope he doesn't do a NP and get fed up with the madness.
The fact that he is doing it with all the madness cant be going unnoticed either. He really should be on the short list for manager of the season if we end up anywhere near mid table.
Going off on a tangent, I don't get why 'Manage of the month' always goes to the manager with the best results. Surely that's team of the month? Manager of the month should depend on other factors such as squad, money, injuries, etc.
It very rarely looks at the resources of the club and who the club played either, or even the performance sin those games. On topic i hope he extends, the best manager we have had here since i have supported the club. He is a top manager, he is building a very good team, you can see he has the knowledge how to build a side, unlike what Brown did last time where he bought random players. Lets hope he extends his contract, but i don't know if he will, i would understand if he didn't with all that's going on.
Same way Fegie stuck with the Glazers and openly backed them. They support him 100% and let him manage.
I think City's failure to attract better players than their existing ones in the summer of 2009 was key. Started off with Negredo, Campbell, Owen and Zamora.....and we ended up with VGOH and Dozy Jozy. Not Brown's fault if the players couldn't be persuaded to come.
I liked Brown but I would say a little of the fault could be laid at his feet. He was part of the problem we didnt get those players. The fact that Bruce can convince players of Huddlestones quality to sign shows that the manager can persuade people to come.
whilst CTID rumbles on and uncertainty increasingly prevails, Steve Bruce would be a fool to commit to anything
2 simple reasons why he will stay with Hull City and extend his contract. IMO. 1) The Allams let him manage which is all that any manager wants. Most PL clubs fall down by the meddling of clueless owners and CEO's. 2) Steve Bruce does not need the money. The club fits in with his life and ambitions and what better kudos for him than to take Hull City into Europe and win a cup say. Top 4 would be the cherry on the cake. No big club will come for Steve Bruce sadly for him. Slumberland scarred him for life imo. FFS, now i am in agreement with Chazz. I must go see the doctor.
Just on this topic, in his pre-match interview for the Palace game he mentioned wanting to be here for at least "The next four or five years" which sounded promising.
It is to be sincerely hoped that Mr Bruce does remain here, he seems to have a good working relationship with his employers but perhaps he could do without the grief being constantly stirred up by some
that would be the journalists who keep bugging him with questions he's already said he doesn't want to give answers to. as a point of order, doesn't sb extending his contract rather depend on someone more senior asking him if he wants to first?
