So on Saturday we have Southampton. The media are saying what a great start to the season they've had but in truth, have they had a winnable set of games?

    August:
    Liverpool 2-1 Southampton
    Southampton 0-0 West Brom
    West Ham 1-3 Southampton

    September:
    Southampton 4-0 Newcastle
    Swansea 0-1 Southampton
    Southampton 2-1 QPR

    October:
    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton
    Southampton 8-0 Sunderland
    Southampton 1-0 Stoke

When they've played the "bigger" sides in Liverpool and Tottenham, they've lost the games. Many people expected them to be in the relegation battle for selling so many of their players from last season but they've picked up the points when they've needed to and are currently sitting in second.

So what do you expect at the weekend?

They beat us home and away last season, time for revenge? Will they be all "scored out" after putting 8 past Sunderland? Somebody said on Sky at the weekend how when you put a big number of goals past a team one week, you'd snap the hands off a 1-0 win the week after but the goals seem to dry up after a big win (reminds me of us against Fulham last season). Hopefully their goals have dried up for a little bit and we continue to climb this table away from the bottom half.

    Your thoughts?

Agree with everything you say about scoring hatfuls and then having a drought. Could be a chance to make a statement against Southampton but we are still a weakened side so who knows. It's certainly a winnable game and to be honest, having seen us undefeated against Arsenal and Liverpool I think when we're on our game we'll give anyone a good go.

Shane Long hasn't scored for us yet. You know what's going to happen don't you? :)

They've recently had an extra gear against us to the point I've just thought at the end "kinell they're a great team, why aren't they finishing top 4?"

Im expecting to think that again.

OP is quite correct. Southampton have had a great start to build their confidence and bed in the new players. I still think we are up against it, despite their comfortable fixture list.

They would see (including us) their next three games as also winnable before they face three big sides back to back at the end of November.

Our secret weapon is our name! It doesn't mean a thing to our opposition what our stats say they're playing hull city and will fancy their chances! Even burnley will be targeting our game as their first three pointer! So let it continue and we can keep turning up and doing our thing.

I presumed Burnleh would see us as their first three points. I just hope we don't give them it.

Burnley looked poor yesterday against Everton. Elmo will have a field day against their left back and Robbo will tear them a new arsehole. Stats reckon that they have conceeded the most headed goals from crosses in the league. Diame could bag 2 or 3. I fancy a 0-4 victory.

If we beat Burnley then 100% we wont get relegated this season. But they'll no doubt beat us.

Whats their run of form against us?

Having a winnable set of games and actually winning them are two very different things.

Yep he'll dive and win a penalty. Our fans will scream and call him the biggest cheating **** ever, conveniently forgetting he did that for us but they were definite pens.
