So no offloading him, eh? Well then he'd better show up to matches and play. Otherwise Ted's gonna give him some stick
If we need him, we play him - we're paying his wages, so it's our option. If he breaks down, so be it - he'll sit it out and we'll pay him regardless.
At or near his best Sandro should be a very useful player to have in the Championship. If he's fit and up for it which JFH will know, I hope we use him a lot while we have until January anyway. He could help get us valuable points. I read as well he stayed fit at West Brom, so if he is rested a bit which with the number of midfield players we have shouldn't be difficult, he and we could get lucky.
Really? I was under the impression that it stays open for a while after the normal window closes. Anyway, if there's no way to get rid of his wages then we need to use him. Not in the starting 11 but have him around the squad and on the bench of no one else is on better form. Perhaps in the starting 11 if form dips for others. He's still a good player and will definitely inspire some robust playing from the more soppy players.
Sandro isn't perfect but I think you're not really looking at him with clear vision. You're projecting your annoyances of past onto the current situation. For a moment, forget how much we paid for him, how big his wages are, etc. These are inconsequential now because we can't get rid of him and he's here. Does he have good ball control? Can he pass well? Can he shoot well? Can he challenge for the ball in the air well? Can he tackle well? Is he weak? How is his positioning and understanding of the game? Does he have a decent history in terms of success? If the majority of your answers for those questions are negative then I'm afraid you're talking balls. Granted... he has a poor record in recent years regarding injury but he's up and running at the moment and might last a season... look at Faurlin last term.
I'd bet good money he doesn't complete three consecutive games for us this season. Yes, when fit (less than half the time since coming to England which realistically isn't going to improve) he's better than the others we have but I've not seen anything from him in his time at QPR (two years and 29 appearances to date, with 13 at West Brom mostly of two minute sub cameos) to suggest he's so much better that it should be done in favour of creating a decent partnership between two of Luongo, Cousins and Borysiuk. I want him to be a last resort. If he's first choice when fit he's unlikely to leave. If he's in cotton wool and left out until January while fit he might finally go somewhere- anywhere.
I don't want him to be first choice either. But I want him to be in and around the squad, wanting to steal someone's place and pushing for that. It can only be a good thing. And about his time at QPR... he's often been in a poor team anyway but I've seen several good performances plus a few MOTM worthy ones. I know he's got it in him. But, as you point out, his fitness/injury risk is the key to everything.
Going, going............hopefully gone by January - what an absolutely awful signing and colossal waste of money by our club. QPR could offload Sandro to China By David McIntyre 04/10/2016 please log in to view this image Sandro could be given the opportunity to move to China in the new year. Intermediaries acting on behalf of Chinese Super League clubs have contacted QPR about a possible deal for the Brazilian midfielder ahead of the January transfer window. Sandro, who has not made a league appearance for Rangers since last December, wants a move to the Premier League or a European club involved in the Champions League. But a planned transfer to Sporting Lisbon fell throughin the summer and QPR were unable to find an alternative buyer. The club are desperate to offload Sandro, whose contract at Loftus Road expires next summer. Affected by knee trouble prior to his move from Tottenham, he has made just 26 league appearances for the R’s since being signed for £6m in 2014. With no sign of interest among European clubs, he could be given the chance to try his luck in the Far East rather than see out the final months of his current contract. Sandro ended last season on loan at West Brom and has made two EFL Cup appearances for QPR this term, scoring against Sunderland and finding the net twice against Rochdale. Injuries to other Rangers players meant he was on the substitutes’ bench for the last two league games, at Burton and Fulham. The Chinese transfer window opens on 1 January and will be open until the end of February. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-sandro-china-04102016 .
He threw a hissy fit when the Finnish kid was brought on instead of him as the final sub for Lynch. A) Exceptionally unprofessional B) Not helpful for a kid about to make his debut (who actually played very well) C) He's a knob
You would too with that sort of appearance fee. He wants to put himself in the shop window so some other mug club is stupid enough to take him. Unless we are out of other options I'd rather the club wasn't used as a vehicle for this waste of space. As for his eye for goal, the guy has a grand total of seven career goals.
