Then he should p**s off back to Wales and take his team selection and tactics with him He is happy enough to make his living in England but even if his answer to Croucy's England chances was tongue in cheek ( which I doubt ) he should have had the nous not to fly the Welsh flag It just confirms his arrogance and contempt and whilst it should not be at our expense he desrves to taste relegation to burst his bubble Yes we won and deserved to yesterday but are we ever going to create and score a goal from open play SiS
Funny you should mention this SIS as I actually thought the same thing last night. It was well rude and quite arrogant to be honest and shows his contempt for things that he cares little about. No wonder some of the players have a rough time with him!
On a similar vein. I was on a rare mission on the oatcake forums last night and read about a guy that apparently sits behind the Stoke dug out every week and let's TP know about his tactics, team selections and ****e performances. Well yesterday TP must have had enough and returned fire with " Just F*** Off " Don't know how true it is but the guy that posted it seemed to be genuine about it.
Waddo Did you see the photos from Lakeland on Oatcake? Probably about page 4 now I misssed that interview. Would be interested to know that thread on oatcake as I have a guy right behind me who is very verbose in his suggestions. TBH he is a dickhead.
I personally wasn't bothered about this at all; I didn't care about Andy Murray's comment either. However, I agree with the rest. The thing that annoys me most is the fact that this will bring back the pro-Pulis brigade, because he has done the right thing for once. Definitely a big step forward yesterday. But anyway, be more positive, really glad to have the points coming in again.
Points were needed and as I suggested on another thread, he was bound to rise from the ashes when he most needed to. The guy is still a dick and 2 wins in 10 and the first home win since Novemeber is not acceptable and is sackable in its own rite. However, with the smell of Coates' lower regions on his breath, he suprised even me with his utter contempt for the stoke faithful in his latest comments in the press. Something along the lines of "I pick the team and the chairman was more than happy with my team selection........." followed up with I dont care and I answer to him not the fans........." TWAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy for the points though and all in all it was a pretty good perfromance..... for us that is!
Ok, so Pulis should think a bit more before he says things, but it is true, he answers to Coates, not us.
To be honest S I Spain I didn't see T.P.s interview at least not all of it? is it the same as the one on the BBC web page aftermatch.. NOT That I care about T.P. tbh.. we won, we NEEDED to win and I don't give a flying fig about WALES,Scotland or any other country with regards too football. If that what he was saying? ONE thing I know for sure is this.. A guy sits just behind me with his 12yr old son.. he went down to get Jermaine Pennant's autograph yesterday.. He was warming up right in front of me and he looked totally hacked off with things.. when his lad returned to his seat with a smile on his face.. I asked. " What did Pennant say to you " his dad said it was unrepeatable.. i.e. along the lines of... I'm left on the FFF ing bench again.. F""" it and then said he was sorry his son had heard the comment. Pennant then added "Give the team your'e best support as always" also asked his dad if he had travelled too Valencia.. of course he had not but Pennant said.. " Thanks for gettinng behind the team. "We do appreciate it" FAIR play to Jermaine Pennant for that at least.. BUT, it proves one thing which is obvious to all.. PULIS has well and truly hacked him off! Great win yesterday, well done the fans too a big improvement on recent weeks at the Brit.. now let's do the same next week. PS sorry to go off topic! thought you would all be interested to know what happened with Pennant.
I don't have any issue with the comment about not caring about England - he's Welsh, so why should he. However, I do think he should have said something complimentary about Crouch and his opinion regarding whether or not Crouch should be in the squad.
It doesn't matter what anyone thinks about TP's ability as a manager or whether he has done a good job, excellent job or a terrible job for Stoke - the guy is a prize prick - FACT! Remarks like that are unecessary, disrespectful and arrogant beyond belief! Even the greatest regret when they overstep the mark and they all fall on their sword one day - and TP is NOT a great! Its childish to look down your nose at hard working fans who probably work all year (in a low income area like S-O-T) to earn the same money he gets paid in a week - note I said paid and not earned! Earned is an interesting word, because it goes hand in hand with respect - something he hasn't quite grasped the concept off yet!
Smither's I've just listened to the interview.. missed the first part of it last night.. must agree that when asked about Crouch and his England chance's.. he should have been more aware of what he actually said. "I don't care what happens to England" Feckin knumbskull. Crouch did what he is supposed to do yesterday, he socred. TONY. WHY didn't you say that? or just say NOTHING at all. With regards to RESPECT i.e. To Mr Pulis.. YOU earn that it's not a given right... for me you have not earned it YET. My gratitude yes but, you can not buy nor demand it.
tenterden I'll go take a peak now thanks. By the way this was the thread mate - http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Potters&action=display&thread=187457
Waddo ONE of the few occasions I've ever bothered to read the Oatcake online that is... bloddy hell Waddo WISH I could sit there, just the once of course if only for the hell of it.
Potts you best keeping off the online one they can be quite fiery lol! TP must have had enough to snap like that bearing in mind that families would have probably been in ear shot! Checked the pics out too they were ace cheers tenterden!
wow, I always have a good laugh when reading these posts. I reckon if Stoke won their remaining 10 games you would still want Pulis out
Proff Whatever gave you that idea? COS I would like many on here I want to see us PASS IT more! If I could do it for nothing in the 70s. HOW come half our player's can NOT?
As always, you're entitled to your opinion, but I think your already out to get the guy, and will find fault in whatever he says. I don't think TP does look down his nose at us, the fans. You've got to think, in these interviews, managers are pretty much fresh from the touch line, emotions still high, and have an journo basically baiting them to say something controversial, combine this with the fact that any professional will get pissed off with enthusiasts telling them how to do there job, and you're quite likely to get a snappy remark. Some on here seem to seriously think that TP doesn't know how important the fans are to a club, doesn't want the club to do well, and doesn't know as much about his players who he sees train all the time, than us, who see them for 90/ 180 minutes a week. The way people talk on here, you'd think Pulis couldn't manage to tie his shoes up, never mind manage a team. Some of you might have a cry because I'm about to use the words "Look where we are now", and I'm not saying no one else could have managed it, or proclaiming that Pulis is the messiah, but would we have got here if he was the ****ing idiot you lot all moan about? I for one, think not.
If TP won the net 10 games then that woudl be fantastic! If we finished 6th/7th/8th then that woudl be fanstastic! Results talk and currently the results have not been acceptable and that is a result of our form! Form is down to how the team is managed and how we overcome injuries, suspensions etc... How come when we play well its all down to TP, but when we dont its all down to the players, the refs, the rub of the green etc...? If the results were consistent then TP would be playing his best team with the right tactics, week in week out and no one would be able to pick fault! However our resultsb have been poor (recently) and so we can pick fault! In addition (I dont know where you sit), but I sat 4 rows back from the home dug out since TP's return and based on what I have heard and seen I detest the man! If he is that good then why are the fans so divided over him, and except for the pissheads (who dont go to watch the football) why has there been over a 50% turnover of season ticket holders in the last 2 years?
Fair enough, making your judgement on results, they haven't been brilliant recently, but I don't agree with slating him based on interviews and newspaper write ups. I mostly sit in the corner, I've only been behind the dugouts a few times (me and my mates swap tickets now and then, just for a different view), but I've never seen or heard anything that's made me think too badly of him. What have you seen/heard that's bought you to this conclusion?
