Well, the injury to Fonte is unfortunate rather than disastrous and speaking as someone who bought 4 tickets I would have been disappointed if all I had to watch was the reserves!
The positive way to look at this (which you will understand as a paid-up, sandal-wearing disciple of Nigel, I must) is that the injury didn't happen before January and we are playing Villa next time out.
As to the advice to spend a couple of million more than necessary on a player in order to get him in a few days earlier, I am sure that NC will bear it mind but I would rather he ran things on a strategic, long-term basis rather than the headless chicken approach

Succesful? The fans hated him there. "He was stealing a living as a footballer", and someone even called him a joke and Charltons worst ever player.

He was dropped on Boxing Day for sub-par performances.

Not related at all, just not a fan of Danny Seaborne and from the link I posted, neither were Charlton fans.

Aaron didn't get on brilliantly at Palace for whatever reason, I'm not going to be biased about it.
