With the international break giving us a chance to get some of our troops back on the pitch and match fit, with our current squad name your starting xi ( i know but i'm bored with no football ).

    for me its

    Green

Simpson --- Dunne ---- Onuha------ BAE

    Barton ---- Carroll

    Hoillet -------- Krancjar -------- Phillips

    Austin

saying that with Carroll i could swap for any of henry, faurlin or Oneil.

If all fit and playing to the best of their ability?

    Cesar

    Simpson Dunne Onuoha BAE

    Faurlin Carroll

    Barton/Phillips Hoilett

    Kranjcar

    Austin

I've only ever seen Phillips play in the Birmingham game - on the wrong side and an enforced change, so I can't really judge how good he is. Hopefully much better than we saw on that day though. Barton is the least naturally talented of that midfield by some distance.

I'd like to play 3 at the back but we don't have the personnel for it.

Like your team RangerW9, but feel we need a def midfielder, so prefer O'Neil to Carrol

Like the look of that line up, only worry is dropping Captain Hill from starting IX.

And if fully fit (both physically and mentally!), maybe Diakite could challenge for the other DM spot, seemed top class in a few games in 2011-12 season.

I think this team is spot on with the exception that I would swap Carroll for Henry for away games.

Hard to disagree with this team to be honest, it's got everything if they're all on form.

Pace out wide, creativity with Carroll and Krancjar and the grit of Barton. And of course, a goalscorer in Austin

That's a very good call on Diakite, who as usual I had completely forgotten. Remember that goal he scored against Arsenal?

This, but you've got Hoilett and Phillips the wrong way round

Here we go again. Another set of speculative team line-ups that excludes Clint Hill. Just what does the guy have to do? When will people wake up to the fact that the game is about team work and not just technical ability. Thank God 'Arry has.

Also, I always make a point of judging what I see on the pitch rather than by reputation and I haven't yet seen enough from Phillips to say that he merits first choice. Both O'Neil and SWP have had a better impact thus far.

    Henry
    Barton
    Faurlin
    Hoilett
    Krancjar

Yeah your right. While Dunne and Onouha have more ability than Hill but they have shown no capacity for teamwork. The lazy selfish barstards

As for O’Neil on the right instead of Phillips I disagree personally but it is a reasonable point. But for me first half last week showed why that was wrong. O’Neil isn’t a natural winger and we play to narrow with him on the right. We need natural width to create chances and Phillips is our best right sided winger. Also the added pace is a bonus

Strongest line up IMO both Johnson and Cheventon are better finishers I have seen Austin live twice and not convinced by his finishing to chances ratio and his running off the ball

AJ is excellent at this Austin has been given a lot of chances on a plate and fluffed his lines ... He will get better no doubt but the other two already have it in the tank IMO

He can take a pen of course he can win a pen but he is not as good currently than the other two IMO

On what evidence is Chevanton currently a better finisher that Austin?

His past and history remember him as very sharp lad he knows where the goal is as for AJ he can finish on his day as well as anyone ... I have seen Austin miss more chances than score that is what I base my opinion on

He has a good future make no doubt but the question is your strongest team I think Charlie Austin has cost us points this season ... Against Brighton he did very poorly and we should of have beaten them ... I would drop any of them if they ****ed up ... Based on that I would use AJ and Chevanton to win us games

Johnson won´t play for us again - Austin 5 goals in 5 games, suprised you haven´t put SWrongP in your line-up Dave. Too much hash from the Rift Mountains DT

What ! I base my opinion on what I see and don't jump like some of the fools do about Austin
Barton has clearly been our best player yet because Austin pops a few in he is a hero ... Fickle

Austin has cost us points simple as so he don't make my strongest line up until he learns to be better ... He is paid to score and watch Chevanton because he will prove me right 100%
As will AJ when he returns ... In fact watch Harold pick him when his knee is straight

Austin is doing a good job on his own and maybe a good call in an away fixture ... He don't make my strongest team if everyone is fit unless he partners but that's a new formation he is currently playing in the team due to lack of direct options IMO
