Does anyone think we will still get him? No rumours have been out today which I know isn't necessarily a bad thing. I still don't get why they're willing to keep a player who is inevitably not going to play to his full potential untill January, in which case gives us more of a chance of getting him for a lot cheaper surely?

Question is, do we leave it now completely and go for somebody else or leave it, get nobody else and try again in January?!

It's getting late in the window now. If a deal isn't close now then we should certainly look for someone else as it's an area we are badly lacking in. I'd be very disappointed if we don't get another midfielder.

Me too, I can't honestly think of anyone else to buy though. Moutinho is class act yes but they also want a high price i.e. £40m.

If I were Roman I'd say f*ck it and go for Neymar xD - Imagine though 4-2-3-1

    ---------------Cech--------------
    VDW------Terry--Luiz--------Cole
    --------Ramires--Lampard--------
    Sturridge/Anelka--Mata--Neymar
    --------------Torres-------------

Most of the reports I have been reading say that the deal is dead, and Modric is staying put.

Looks to me like Perriera is the only real possibility today. Shame as I think we expended too much on trying to get Modric and perhaps have ended up short in the middle. Time will tell if it has been costly.

Well if that testament to truth the Sun can be believed we are going to land Ribery today for £36 million

I understand Levy's stance, he would probably have to resign if he sold Modric given what he said previously.

Much like Robinho we have put all our eggs in one basket and it has backfired. The reality is, with or without Periera we have no creativity in the midfield, with the current squads I predict a fight with Liverpool for 3rd, but I am sure we will come out winners in that battle, we have too much quality not to <ok>

Don't think we'll go for Ribery, he is cup tied. I've seen somewhere if Alex goes that we will go for Gary Cahill! Who I rate very highly.

I think Pereira, Cahill/VDW and we will push for Modric as much as possible today

Modric is apparently having a very nasty crisis talk with Levy and Arry. Ribery deal isn't going to happen.

Not entirely one basket as we were in for Pastore as well but I agree that we could be left short now.
