Has anyone heard anything , i cannot concentrate on anything at the moment. The suspense is killing me.
My head says no, but my heart says . . . well . . . it says no as well. No news is good news, right ?
i think the fact that there has been nothing coming out of the club for weeks is good news. Its too quiet for nothing to be happening....
PLEASE let something happen today! A takeover, a signing, anything! This is nearly as bad as waiting for the outcome of the points deduction enquiry. I swear I've aged 10 years in the last 6 months being a QPR fan.
in reply to ↑ Paul Smith @Smudge1962 Paul Smith @Filiranger I have to be honest at this point in time there doesn't seem to be any substance to these QPR take-over rumours.
Maybe there will be news of a change of ownership. Could Metal Mittal finally take over the club? Is there someone else out there from the Middle or Far East who fancies becomng a Premiership owner? Maybe there is someone closer to home like Sir Richard Branson who fancies taking a punt. That would certainly solve the sponsorship problem as well, although I don't think the players would fancy running around with "Virgin" plastered on the chests. "A Virgin" maybe, but just "Virgin", no. If not Sir Richard Branson - and therefore no Virgin - we could see any number of companies take over as sponsors. Confused.com or FCUK were early suggestions, but I think it is more likely to be Lidl or Aldi. Might even be companies with footballing names like Boots or Premier Products. There could even be a groundbreaking system of sponsoring individual players. I hear Pampers are trying to strike a deal with Adel. There could even be a flurry of transfer news as soon as Neil Warnock gets the go-ahead to finailise some deals. Who will it be? Mackail-Smith, Ambrose, Crouch and Upson or will it be Legrottaglie, Robbie Keane and Lee Bowyer? There could be an announcement of the intention to purchase Television Centre and build a new 30,000 seat stadium, but there again it could be a ground-sharing agreement with the Thames Valley Harriers, London Nigerian RFC and PHC Chiswick at Linford Christie Stadium behind the Scrubbs. Who knows.
As ever, we the real fans, anxiously await the fate of the club. Concentrating on what we DO know ie nothing except new contracts for existing players, must be evidence that negotiations continue. If you are selling, you don't spend your money. If you are buying, you would not allow Warnock to spend until the deal was done. I think it must just be a question of time. Either way, cast iron that ST prices will not go down this year. If take over does happen, I think Amit will be obliged to do SOMETHING to substantiate his reason for resigning and the obvious thing to do would be to throw in a league / FA cup game or two. All speculative but perhaps not unreasonable.
Smudge1962 Paul Smith I am digging though. I genuinely hope what I'm hearing is wrong and there is talks going on.
Keep the faith lads and lasses. It is not in anyone's interest (apart from the other clubs!) for us to go straight back down again. I think we are being used as one rather large negotiation tool. Hang in there!
Is that still standing ? Looked like it was about to fall down 5 years ago when I worked at the Hospital.
