Gotta say the guy has done a good job. Been away on holiday in miami and a carribian cruise over xmas, need to stay away more if results improve SC so far has steadied a sinking ship and results have improved,i was very concerned when the appointment was announced, and yes he still has a long way to go to show he is the real deal. But it looks better than i thought it would be. Happy new year fellow Reds the only way is up
Hopefully SC will be the man to get our team winning more often again, one huge improvement I have noticed, we are playing at a faster tempo & look a lot better organised in defence.
SoD was a good man - however his inability to communicate properly via the media meant he never really gelled with the fans. To be fair he was given a near impossible task, but because he "lost the fans" or more accurately never had them in the first place he had less time to turn things around. SC on the other hand is quite relaxed when a microphone is thrust under his nose. Having the crowd with you makes such a big difference.
Plus he waved to the East-End when they chanted to him....not sure SOD ever did?.........He certainly is poles apart from SOD in the media though.
SOD embarrassed himself every other week when in front of the media, mumbling and groaning for half an hour, imagine affect that had on the players? 3 wins in 27 says it all Whilst SC is too the point, sharp tonged, portrays his ideas to the fans and media very clearly, doesn't insult the fans like SOD did AND he's getting results If SC does strengthen in Jan and keep our star player we will get out of this mess in no time
So far so good with SC. With the players available I think he's done most things right. I like his positivity and involvement from the dugout as well. It will be interesting to see who he brings in the next few weeks.
smhbcfc SOD is as bad a manager as we've ever had, results are what managed are judged on. And he led us up sh*t creek - Whether 'he's a good man' is irrelevant.
SoD was a bellend, I didn't take to this piss poor pass to me to you to me to you now hoof it to poor old Sam Baldock to look like it's him that lost possession. Don't care a **** about how great we looked at Port Vale and second half at Carlisle, I pay to be entertained. One game and a half against 40plus ****e games just didn't cut it for me. I want to be sat on the edge of my seat on a roller coaster. The crowd get going and makes the experience better for me. I don't like going to a comedy and finding it not funny, so why go to a football match and be bored.
Same with the Manager. He told us he was meeting a player today and another soon after. That tells me he is looking to do business. I hate it went managers blather on about 'irons in the fire' etc. That generally means that nothing is going on. SC has said he will be bringing players in, and even when he is meeting them. I am loving that! I hope we have all likely meeting venues staked out?
Cott's job is much harder than SOD's ever was at the start, and he also has far less ability at his disposal on the pitch considering SOD had the likes of Albert, Davies, Heaton, Skuse and co initially until he ****ed that up too and took us down.
I think the likes of D. Mk. and SOD did us all a great service?? They managed to lower our expectations to the extent that remaining in League one is now a goal. Not top two, not play offs, but rebuild for the future. For that I thank them.
