Smith moving out was expected But none coming in a surprise, For some, anyway who had hoped we Would go out and land a big prize And although that had seemed quite likely At one stage, I have to admit, It doesn̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôt seem that we are lacking That much if they all can stay fit And sure, one more face would have lifted Our hopes and made others think twice, If it would have made a big difference But not at just whatever price But then came the late news of Nelson Which did spoil my day just a tad, The Admiral who had been admirable And supposedly one of the lads One of those good back-up players A pro to be relied upon, Every team needs them supporting It saddens me that he̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs now gone So quite a few quid have been offered In the hope that dreams can come true, But here at our Carrow Road fortress We̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôre sticking with our trusted crew And who can blame PL for thinking Along those lines, so far it̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs been, A recipe for our revival A settled and cohesive team And in fact I̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôd much rather support A team which can find some success, Without going out and just spending For the sake of it, and risk a mess So endeth the day of such madness Where millions and millions are paid, Now back to what̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs really important The games that are still to be played. Must say I̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôm a bit surprised about Nelson, but he could have asked to leave of course, and we do, at least for the moment, still have Askou, only loaned to Millwall for a month, so in principle, returnable.
