I can imagine your feelings walking out of Home Park after their 3-1 defeat..i mean it sounded like Argyle played some good football...

It's all about goals though isn't it....

    Your comments...

I didn't go today because I could hardly walk having done my back. Will be touch and go for Tuesday as well I think. I also deliberately didn't listen to the game either as we have my grandson for the weekend and I was doing other things. I knew it was 1 - 0 at halftime and I knew it was 1 - 1 but not the final score till later. Where did it all go wrong because this week I haven't got a clue.

Sort of one step forward and two back...still there will be easier teams to play starting with Bristol..

I will have my ear phones on for Tuesday..

Now if we lose to Bristol on Tuesday will Brent start to listen to the upsurge on these websites about the value of Fletcher as manager.

PS......website clock 9 minutes fast at present...if it carrys on like that we'll be predicting results long after they have started on this website.

It all went wrong when argyle reverted to their comfortable way of playing after half time and wotton coming off was a turning point too. First half was all passing, no hoofing other than quick clearances and we had the lions share of possession. feeney wasn't isolated up front as he didnt have to deal with holding the ball up, rather the team built play by knocking it around and carved out some half chances. ironically the goal came from 30+ yards when williams hoofed it at goal and the keeper seemed to expect a deflection. cue second half - wotton who had been extremely effective in his defensive midfield role, bridging between them and midfield for lots of passing in the first half did his groin. when he came off lecointe came in again to a midfield role and we spent most of the half defending, booting the ball up to halfway and defending again. I like luke young, but he had a stinker yesterday after being booked in the first half and I wasn't surprised when he mistimed a challenge to concede the pen...the other two goals, both from freekick situations that a) wotton in the box may have dealt with better and b) possibly shouldnt have been freekicks. The first was defenders grappling strikers, the same that had happened seconds earlier to feeney but the ref didnt blow up...and if the lyndhursts cries of frustration were anything to go by, the second came from a dive. Have a gander at the bbc iplayer for the goals, i think they pretty much sum up the afternoon.

I was amused [if that's the word] by Tweets on #pafc.

Before half-time, someone said we were passing the ball like Barcelona and another compared Argyle to Brazil. After half-time and once we'd gone behind, a lot of foul language was used calling for Fletcher's head.

It wasn't the same people making these statements I know but it does show how divided and fickle fans can be.

There had been signs of improvement but yesterday was a huge disappointment after what sounded like an excellent first half. What it shows it that it's the defensive basics that count - conceding 3 goals in 45 minutes is going to get you nowhere fast. Entertaining football and playing 2 strikers may have to be put on hold.....

Wotton seemed to be holding the mid-field together from reports...once he had left, the glaring lack of mid-field ability gave the initative to Port Vale and our defence had no support........and wait for it notDistant......Carl Fletcher was all at sea and is waiting to see the DVD to put his finger on what went wrong......although he did notice that losing goals does make a difference.

Nearly a year in the job and he has won only 26% of matches.....that sounds like....Conference here we come to me.

I suffer with back problems from time to time Gat and mine is more a trapped nerve. Probably caused by sitting at a desk in ill fitting chairs for years. It bloody hurts and I find it hard to sit for long or even lay down. I sympathise with anyone who suffers with back pain because you can't move without moving it. I wish I could say it was jumping off the top of the wardrobe but alas not.

Back to Argyle. You are absolutely so wrong there notdistant. We absolutely need to start with 2 strikers at home. Fletcher needs to show some confidence in his players and not go all defensive. His confidence might breed some in the team. I have no problem with one up front and play for a draw or lucky win away but at home you need to attract the punters given it is your income and show some bottle. The one time I've seen this is Northampton second half. It worked and the Feeney up front alone move hasn't. I am a bit more hopeful about Tuesday night attendance wise right now although I am off for a weekend in the Cotswolds next weekend so I will not push it if there is any doubt. I don't want to be stuck in a hotel room unable to move. At the moment I would say it is 70/30 that I will be at the match.

Sensible.....built-in wardrobes generally do not have a top to jump off of, if they reach ceiling height......just a tip incase you regain your youth.

I still think trying to lift Argyle for the last four years is the main problem.

I have been fortunate over the years with my back, only once did I do something silly with it........I once reached across the bed by pressing my knees against one side and stretching across to the other side to reach my shirt.......not a lot of people believed me at the time.....wink wink nod nod smirk smirk.

I was unfortunate to have a friend who was into maths in a big way.....and I think it was by using fulcrums he worked out the tonnage pressure I had been placing on the base of my spine at that moment.....scared the life out of me at the time....at least I have treated my spine with more respect since.

I'm sure notDistant can put me right if I havn't remembered that correctly....it was 40 odd years ago.

sensible you really shouldn't be hiding inside a wardrobe - waiting to surprise your other half :bandit: - you should have known that, at your age, you'd have soon fallen asleep - no wonder you've done in your back ! <laugh>

Bacon and eggs with grilled tomato and toast is my breakfast thing most days. Have you know I am normally breakfast chef as well although sometimes it could be described as brunch. Only ever up before 9am if I'm going somewhere far away of the house has caught on fire.

Never get much chance at the surprise the other half thing these days. Can't understand it myself. I lay there looking seductive in my back support and teeth in the glass but she shows little interest. No pleasing some people.

The head is the heaviest single part of the human body [no seriously, everyone's not just whoever came into your mind just then] at something like a stone in weight followed by the thorax, which may be 50% of your body weight.

So if you are leaning forward, the base of your spine is anchoring 14 lbs at I suppose arms length plus the weight of your chest and its internal gubbins [excuse scientific language] on a lever of what, 1 foot in length? Plus, if your knees are pinned against the side of the bed, you're bending them backwards against the joint also.

All in all, probably better to take the exercise and walk around the bed unless there's some particular reason to bend over it in that way. I'll stop there.
