So are we all just Cyber-buddies?

Just wondered how many on here have actually met up in real life, or were friends before they joined. Personally, I have not met any of you, although possibly I have and was unaware!
I think it would very interesting if we all met up in pub, whether we would be able to recognise each other from what we have posted. Or maybe there would be a riot?

 

If we meet in a pub, I'm a slim, curvaceous blonde (or I was thirty years ago). Some of us are just better in imagination.

I can vouch for this.

 

I do complicated shifts, it seems sometimes I meet myself coming home when I am on the way to work!

In real life I am a very quiet, sober, unopinionated and extremely polite old man who isn't beastly to anyone. If you met me you would not be able to take me seiously again.

I must say it would be good to meet that SingingBlue3 character. He would probably turn out to be just like me - a really nice chap and not the beastly person he pretends to be.

 

The nice thing about the internet is that you can lie and pretend to be something you are not. You can also be quite rude to people without ending up outside brawling.

 

Actually, I think that that is the least attractive aspect of the Internet.

 

To be honest I think I have met may be a dozen or more of you. Some I have known practically all my life, others, all of theirs!!
I think it is wonderful to meet people who do post. I was caught out twice this season by people I was talking to, who posted on here and recognised my mannerisms in my written word. Then compared it to my every day mannerisms and speech.Then they asked me straight out!!! It is true I guess I do have certain words and ways of expressing myself both written and verbally. I didn't really except it until recently though.
So yes it would be a good Idea to have a pint and a chat even if somewhat impractical for most.

 

I know you haven't done it in the above post, but is it true you use '.......' in your everyday speech?

If we all meet up it would have to be a very big venue...how about St Mary's at say..3.00 pm on a Saturday.

 

My words do occasionally drift off it is true and are subject to long silences. How ever I usually get my point across and usually without candour, unless needed...........
