Any self respecting Chelsea fan knew that we would be the only english PL club that he would return to and those suggesting otherwise either do not understand his first tenure, or are simply brainwashed by the media. It's been a story crafted to create division, controversy, and conspiracy - to sell papers - from day one. Classic example of the media not only creating something from pure speculation, but maintaining that story until the truth is manipulated and subverted, and people actually start taking it as gospel. Gospel. The press are nothing more than the modern day equivalent of hocum soothsayers. A self important, self righteous, self obsessed, public Inquisition, preaching what the mob want to hear and what they want you to believe.
There were just certain groups of fans and media that wanted Jose to join United. And when the geniuses at OT ended up employing Sir David (), instead of a manager like Jose, Pep, Klopp etc, they all went "WTF?" and started making up bullshit that they never wanted any of these guys anyway and David Moyes, Yes David Frikkin Moyes, was their first choice all along. I am not sure whether Utd approached Jose, my gut tells me they didnt. I think SAF may have felt him out a few months before via a phone call that both admitted did happen, but after that I think United knew Jose wasnt their man. But I find it impossible to believe, is that Moyes was their first choice, anyone claiming that is talking out their a$$.
Whether or not Moyes or Jose were first choice for Utd and Chelsea respectively, we'll probably never know. It's all media hype, speculation and presumption. The only thing anyone has to go on is that Fergie and Jose had a chat during which Jose intimated he wanted Chelsea.
Jose has always said Chelsea was his first choice, United have never suggested otherwise and Moyes was hand picked by Fergie. Those are pretty much the facts, everything else is rag selling bollox.
Being employed in the press is the easiest job going. If someone else beats you to the story, just make up one of your own !!!
