It's another tight one so far Anyone expecting any surprise teams to stay up there, or any teams you expect will return to their usual positions closer to the trapdoor?
I've got 5/6 teams in the top 6 that i predicted in Penshawdave's top 6 challenge (not in the right order though). Only one that is surprising me is Huddersfield, and the big underachievers are Bolton (lets hope they don't start performing to the expected standards on Tuesday). Not much to talk about regarding the rest of the division apart from to say well done to Dougie Freedman's Palace (unbeaten in 5 and level on points with ourselves in the table).
Palace have played some good sides in that run as well - Cardiff, Forest and Bolton. Could be a surprise package
I wonder how long Boro fans will take the pish that is Boro on the field. They can hardly fill half the stadium for home games and their performances on the field are usually no more than average. I'm sure Boro fans expect more and would have thought they'd be in the top 7 by now this season.
Do they possess enough quality to expect anything more though? Woodgate is obviously a high profile player, but due to injuries isn't the same player, otherwise he wouldn't be at this level. They have McEachran on loan, although not really sure how good he is. Then forwards they have Jutkiewicz and Emnes (currently out injured i assume). They certainly haven't done enough this summer to expect to improve on last season and get into the top6 in my view.
I just noticed the 4 teams immediately above us play each other on Tuesday, so scope for us to move up the table........... just have to beat Bolton away, thats all
I give up on predicting anything for this league. Hull beat us and they sounded a class apart, then they lost to Leicester (not bad as full of quality players) followed by a home defeat to the bottom team Peterborough who for me are relegation certainties, or were. I guess anything is possible this season, as for Leeds Utd - You just never know which team are going to show up on the field of play.
I know that no one has played more of the better teams in this league than us so far and we are 3 points off top. I would have bitten your hand off for that in July. We on paper have a bit of an easier run coming up and I can see us being even closer by the end of November.
That's where I believe you are wrong, there are no such things in this division as easy runs, I would have bet my house on Hull picking up 3 points against Peterborough. Take Cardiff, they have played Leeds, Blackpool, Brighton, Huddersfield, Palace, Wolves... Hull have played Leicester, Leeds, Blackburn, Brighton, Charlton - Two at random who have arguably had as hard a few games as us.
Fully expect Milllllllwallllllto start a blistering run shortly given how good our London guests have been saying they are
IMHO Brighton, Palarse, Chalton and Hudds even with the £££s will not be in the tpp half at the end. Apart from Posh and Brizzle everyone we have played will be there or there abouts. So all I can say is lets see what happens.
