A little bit of snow and everything in this country comes to a standstill even the football. Didn't stop this match last night though..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...USA-Costa-Rica-play-inches-snow-Colorado.html
We do - Would love to see some Premier League games in those conditions. Nothing like a game of footy in the snow!
I'm not one to brag but this is me making a mazy run down the wing before putting an inch perfect cross in for the centre forward to nod the winner against Antarctic Albion. please log in to view this image
true this, a couple of years ago when it was bad in Northumberland the buses were off, still managed to get to toon, even though it took five hours including a walk, hitch hike, two hours wait in a hotel while a taxi was organised which I hopped in also and a train ride. Still made it.
Remember a game in (I think) 85/86 season - snowed like hell before the game, they just cleared the lines and got on with it. Was in the Gallowgate that day and a massive snowball fight broke out between the Gallowgate and Main Stand paddocks - was fine at first, but as the snow got more compacted it got pretty dangerous as bloody great lumps of ice came flying over. One bloke about 5 rows behind me got his eye split open by a iceball with a 2" lump of concrete in it - carnage. Spent most of the second half watching out for flying missiles - wone 2-1 with goals from Jeff Clarke and Beardsley as i recall - played with a proper orange ball as well. Those were the days
