How many times do he manage to loose the ball in that game? I cannot fault the guys work rate and he makes an effort to win the ball back, but I lost count of how many sloppy passes he made in that game. I know his highly rated by a lot of Norwich fans I'd be tempted to cool him off for the next game.
Very frustrating, game have to agree with you. It it wasn't for his set-piece delivery which was of a high standard all match I'd be very critical.
There were so many times he gifted the ball to Sunderland I don't think it was Danny Rose, McClean or Johnson having good games or anything they were very sloppy mistakes. His a good player and more then capable of cleaning up his act, but for me that was enough to warrant being dropped.
We're not short of good set-piece takers so I don't think CH can justify Snodgrass' place in the team on that front. Time for E Bennett to have a few games to prove himself? Snoddy is a better player than he has looked recently.
I'd throw Bennett into the fold, I'm afraid in a squad with our strength in depth you can't perform like that and expect to cement your place in the team, I'm all about showing faith in our players but he really needs to wake up and cut out those mistakes.
Garrido's free kicks from snoddy's side have been excellent. Would like to see benno gets run, just to mix it up.
Holt looks a shadow of himself too, a fecking large shadow to boot. I said at the start of the season that he wouldn't get 10 goals this season and I stand by that. Three year contract or not, I seriously doubt that he'll play a major part next season. No room for sentiment, sorry but that's my opinion
Can't agree with that. Holt hasn't been getting much service so isn't scoring, no fault of his own. I can't think of many players who hold up the ball better than Mr. Holt.
He played a good game for the team disrupting their defence but he should of left one chance to Pilkington and I don't really know what happened with the other chance he had. His having a drought I'm sure once he gets a goal more will follow.
Dont agree. Hes a cruical part of our game, and does more than just score goals. He does a very important part our our team. Remember hes playing up there on his own under this formation with no help from either Jackson or Morison. He isent even getting brilliant service from his wingers as highlighted in this thread, so no wonder hes lacking goals slightly.
Cause he has other strengths than just scoring goals and will always be a threat. He worries defences, and will get goals this season, and when we need them...trust.
I said (more or less) the same thing shortly after half time. I basically said 'this game is crying out for Simeon Jackson' to give Norwich an option we don't currently have. Lambert ended up getting criticised for changing the line up too often. Not a criticism, but I'd like to have seen, maybe Howson start today - just to give us a bit extra going forward, which against a team like Sunderland, struggling for confidence and points, would have been an ideal chance to 'experiment'. Ten minutes of Simeon Jackson at the end, offer something different ??
With all due respect, I feel totally the opposite. I think I've seen Holty this season step it up a notch. There is not a single game he's been in where the other centre half looks totally comfortable, other than Hangeland (who is definitely Holt's nemesis). The number of times Holt not only won a header today, but flicked it to the right person was astonishing, especially in the first half. His neat flick on's are getting better than ever. He's been desperately unlucky in front of goal, and unfortunately that's showing in how tense he gets, but he's doing a spectacular job. As others have said, he isn't getting good service from Snidgrass and Pilks- I really hope we start bringing Bennett on earlier to play off Holt, because they seem on the same wave length, whereas Snodders, as good as I think he is, appears exhausted to me.
I agree about Howson- both Johnson and Tettey look knackered (like most of our midfield)... And this would have been the perfect game for him, and then bring on Jackson after Holt's softened them up. A wins a win, but I can't help but feel we need to change virtually our entire starting line up for the league match a week Tuesday. It sounds a bit like giving up, but I think it would be wor it.
