Was chatting to my mate (a Newcastle fan) and I said SB always noted we need 10 wins. He said "well you've got two already, so that's 8 wins in 7 months you need, not asking a lot is it?" He's right, it's not, but then he's not seen us play this season.
Has Phelan carried on Bruce's overzealous training methods? Injury setbacks were a common occurrence under Bruce and now Odubajo's return has been pushed back and Snodgrass has picked up what looks like a training injury. Nowt you can do about Robbo as that was in a game. I went to the Stoke game last Saturday (first one this season as my dad had borrowed his mate's membership cards and I still refuse to buy tickets until Allam is gone) and my mate and dad both mentioned during the game that the players just look absolutely knackered. Snoddy's injury might just be his old injury flaring up but our players have looked unfit recently from what I saw on Saturday and the previous games on streams. Lacklustre and lack of energy.
Could have been worse, seems nailed on we will go with 352 then thankfully, with Elmo on the right and Clucas on the left.
Could have been worse, but still not great, he is a player we need 100% of the time, but I guess that looks unlikely. TBH John, I would still rather have Clucas in CDM, and Hendriksen on the left, but I really don't know how he'll play it, it's even less predictable than when Bruce was here.
This will probably force us into the 3-5-2. I felt the only problem would have been shoehorning Snod in.
From what I've read and only what Ive read ... Snodgrass's head needs a shake at the minute. Maybe the month off will do him good and just in time for him to get in the window for January.
You may be right. Maybe he doesn't like the Phelan regime. Maybe he's been promised a job in the midlands.......
Someone check the rulebook. See if we can play with 12 players as long as the reason is to make them all feel part of things.
Is this the injury at the end of the Stoke game then or is there a suggestion that he's injured in training?
