Just read on NewsNow that we rejected a £6m bid from Hull. If true it would appear that if he is to leave it will take a fair wack for us to sell!
£6m is a price I would have accepted (probably the lowest I'd go but still reasonable) if we have rejected I wonder if it is because Snoddy isn't forcing his way out and we will keep knocking the bids back until Snoddy say he actually wants to leave, if the bidding is starting at £6m i think its win-wing for us.
I'd rather see the club send out a warning shot, if we could keep hold of our assets for a season we could make a good job of this league, however there is one thing that casts a shadow over things that's the leadership and the weather he strengthens in our main area's attacking midfield and defence.
no point "firing a warning shot" if we end up with an unhappy player who when distracted at the start of this season (granted for other reasons) he was appalling, he clearly is a player who needs focus and I don't imagine a protracted argument about being released would help his mental state. I was more saying if he does try to engineer a move its good to know that bidding starts at £6m, which I consider a fair valuation.
No point in letting some club like Hull take us for mugs, time to get out of this 'Little Norwich' mindset, this is why we've ended up where we have.
Up to now, Snods has been very positive about staying. Until there is something positive against him staying (something more than a Hull journo speculating about a bid which may or may not have been made), I'm prepared to wait and see what happens.
We've bid once at £6m and it's been rejected, but our local media seem to think that talks are now underway. £6m is still pretty good going for him, I'd say it was about right.
If I were a Premiership club,I'd be pretty miffed at signing a Scotsman for 6 million pounds. However, in the Championship I think he's probably worth more to us than that.
Sorry, don't care what anyone says but if we get £8mil for him that is superb business. Use that to re invest knowing we already have capable deputy in Bennett.
The articles are now saying that the bid is 6 million with an extra 2 million in add-ons, not 8 up front. Presumably those add-ons will be if we are not relegated.
Rather than just staying up, could well be appearance based, or goals, assists, future transfers, etc. Plenty of other options.
I can't be the only person who does not rate this one footed one option player - brings the ball back on his left foot and lumps it in the general direction of the penalty spot. Great option if you have a Andy Carroll in your team but not when you have RVW, Hooper and Grabban. No use to us next season unless we aren't going to try and play on the ground and do need somebody to find the head of Laverty or Becchio, Bit grumpy this morning as already back from golf - obscenely early start and finish to avoid the hordes desperate to waste their money at the County Ground.
Is this the same Lafferty that was (apparently) having a medical on Tuesday ? Gone a bit quiet that one. If we get £8m for Snoddy (with or without add-ons) I'd consider that bonza business.
