Ive got no time for Jock football, preferring to keep bigotry & sectarianism out of sport. That said, isn’t it great that Rangers are top of the SPL <cheers>

Lovely to see that odious little non entity Macron coming so unstuck in France <laugh>

Strikes ...riots....and a minus 46% approval rating in the French polls <applause>

No wonder he needs the protection of Fraulein Merkel.

Is he the French Corbyn ? If there was a General Election in 2019 I could see Corbyn winning it on a popular vote …. but he would be less popular than Macron within 12 months when he trashes the economy, unemployment soars and so does the national debt that we pass on to our kids.

That was Jock Stein's Celtic. He didn't allow any bigotry.
The quintessential Protestant club, you mean.
Macron could not be more different from Corbyn. He stood on a centrist platform. Similar only in that his fans saw him as a Messiah, a bit like Donald's fans.

I hear the notion of a "People's Vote" (Referendum re-run) is gaining ground among our useless politicians.
They should have been honest with us two and a half years ago. It was not a genuine choice, just a political con-trick to allow the Tories to win the previous election. There was only ever one viable option; Remain in the EU.

What will the politicians do if the majority in the "People's Vote" is also to leave?
Answer: Nothing. More chaos, more paralysis, no progress. Then a couple more years down the line they'll be calling for yet another referendum.

To be honest though I think if there is a referendum re-run the establishment will get the 'Remain' vote that it wants, from a lower turnout.
Many of those who voted 'Leave' first time around will boycott the vote I should think. I certainly will.

Sorry - I know we're not supposed to talk about Brexit.
But since it looks now like there isn't going to be one then it doesn't really matter I guess.

Serves the purpose of taking our minds off the environmental issues which are far more important. I assume it's what is keeping Royston busy.

I'm not a Kilmarnock fan in particular, but it's good to see the dominance of the Old Firm challenged, however briefly.

Just heard on the morning news that gambling companies have agreed not to broadcast adverts during sporting events (apart from horse-racing).

<cracker> Great news as far as I'm concerned.
If folks want to have a flutter then fair enough, it's a free society.
But all the way through TV football coverage it's wall-to-wall betting adverts - especially at half time.

I believe in Australia the government banned it. If the industry over here has agreed a voluntary deal I assume it's because they were told it would be banned here too unless they behaved themselves.

People have got to realise that problem gambling is every bit as pernicious as drug taking or alcohol bingeing.

I have known quite a few problem gamblers over the years, and believe me, its not pretty. Adverts just set these people off, and it's not their fault.

Compulsive gambling is an illness. My Grandfather had this condition. Those wretched gaming machines have enabled people like the Stoke owner to make a fortune by exploiting others' illness.

The machines are the worst, when I turned 18 I’d feed £20s into them like it was nothing, as did numerous mates of mine, some having to get wonga loans out. Sports betting I’ve never really noticed myself or anyone chase a loss, the sooner the machine stakes are cut/the machines gone altogether the better
