Antoine Griezmann called a press conference yesterday regarding his future (he has been linked to leave Atletico for a while), and said “now is not the time to talk about it”. He even has a programme on TV called ‘the decision’. Class A Bellend, and a perfect example of everything that is wrong with football.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Don Trump, but the news that he has stopped Nike from letting Iran wear their football boots today has really made me laugh #secondtermplease
I've just had a great tit came hopping along towards me, hopped on to my left foot, from there on to my right foot, then off it hopped.
Ketts is obviously in a meltdown about the Charlton takeover.... his story today is about the Checkatrade Trophy..... seemingly forgetting it is now the Carabao Cup and has been for over a year!
The Carabao Cup is the EFL Cup (formerly known as the League Cup). Like the FA Cup, contested in its later rounds by all the top division Clubs. Current holders: Manchester City The Checkatrade Trophy is the EFL Trophy (formerly known as the Johnstones Paint Trophy). Only contested by tier 3 and tier 4 Clubs and by academy teams from sixteen tier 1 and tier 2 Clubs. Current holders: Coventry City They are definitely different competitions. Charlton have been drawn away against MK Dons in the 2018-19 EFL Cup (tie to be played w/c 13th August) The groups for the 2018-19 EFL Trophy have not been announced yet as far as I know. Last year the groups were announced in mid July.
It would help if the EFL and other footballing Authorities would stop re-naming and re-formatting the Cup competitions every couple of seasons. And of course using the sponsors' names when the sponsors too are changing quite often only makes matters worse. The easiest way I find to avoid a mix-up between these two EFL competitions is to ignore sponsor names and just focus on the words 'Cup' and 'Trophy'. Fortunately the Emirates FA Cup is still widely referred to as just the 'FA Cup' and is rarely confused with the lesser competitions.
Anyone doing anything good for Fathers Day today ? I’m dining a trois at my favourite Lebanese restaurant in London. I’m fully expecting to have to pay
Risotto and chocolate cake at home, cooked by my daughter and her partner, followed by Brazil on the telly, and the odd pint of home grog.
5 mile run in eltham, trip down to brighton for a christening and ham sandwiches and then back up for a chinese.
Motty on Desert Island discs this morning chose Red Red Robin as one of his choices because his first game as a kid was at the Valley. It's a fantastic song about fighting back from adversity, I always sing it even though Upper North are trying to sing something else.
You kept that quiet @baraettmattesvensson getting into a fight with German police? https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/german-football-fan-arrested-for-12131214?b
