The Bournemouth steward who put (and later retracted) a complaint against Aguero was absolutely pathetic. Another failed copper trying to throw their (massive) weight around.
for Copper read Nazi ..... they put on those Hi Viz bibs and they think they are god! They were giving that Manc a right good seeing to on the ground when Aguero tried to intervene! ..... I guess the Man Citeh stewards will remember that when Bournemouth fans go to the Etihad
I detest these people. Absolutely detest them. If they want to be brave in a uniform, join the British Army & send them to Afghanistan.
The only thing I would say in the defence of stewards is that it is (presumably) very low paid, unskilled work; one of the few options available to people who for whatever reason cannot find a better way to earn an honest few quid. I've never done it but I know somebody who has from time to time, when a minor injury meant he could not find a better job. I guess it's a pretty thankless job but I respected his willingness to try to work rather than doss around living entirely on benefits. Not saying that stewarding could not be organised a lot better, but somebody has to do it I guess, or we would have to rely on more structural security options (fences). It worries me that we are seeing an apparent upsurge in people invading the pitch - maybe from the generation who are too young to remember the terrible cage fences which fans were forced to endure three decades ago, and what that ultimately led to. Stewarding needs to have much more money invested in it by Clubs, especially those who are raking in the Prem cash. But some fans need to remember they too have a responsibility not to endanger others by losing control during football matches.
Its absolutely outrageous that the Notting Hill carnival is allowed to continue. Its allowed for one reason, and one reason only. I see Sadiq is over there now, busy getting his selfies in before the crime starts. I know a few people over there, and was there on Friday night. I promise you, the local people absolutely dread it and are sh1tting themselves.
Arsenal were bloody awful today. Wenger seems to have accumulated a lot of under achieving playboys on huge wages. You don't hear much about little Theo Walcott these days, or Coquelin.
Joe Gomez nominated for the "golden boy" award. Along with players such as Mbappe, Rashford, Dembele etc. quite the nomination!
What do you think of Rio Ferdinand's decision to try pro boxing ? Given his tragic personal circumstances, my thought was the risk he is taking, considering his kids.
I read that he only wants to do one bout, a bit like Freddy Flintoff. Since Flintoff had a hand-picked useless opponent and did not continue his boxing career, I think Rio would be wise to follow Flintoff's example.
Ermmmm it's all a publicity stunt for Betfair. I'm sure they will carefully select his opposition to reduce the risk of damage. It's just a shame that boxing is taking another kick in the balls.
I wasn't aware of that. Ferdinand is a fool in that case. Assuming that his eventual opponent is the same size as him, he will have a puncher's chance of doing some damage.
I remember Bitter & Malicious, who started this thread, used to live in the Dominican Republic. I hope he's Okay.
