It shows Rodgers and Lambert as snakes.

    Gotta agree with that.

When will they ever learn - every single manager/player who has left the Swans has seen their career fall off the edge of the cliff. I will laugh myself silly when Rodgers is on the dole again this time next year.

Rodgers has money so he won't be on the dole even if he's out of work. I think he'll do very at Liverpool, as long as they don't expect too much too soon. You all thought he was a great manager last week and wanted him to stay. I doubt he's turned into a rubbish manager overnight. Most of you are like over-emotional schoolgirls. Get a grip and use your head.

Casual the way i see itRodgers is the 1 that is raising their expectations, he is going to win them the title apparently, he was a failure at reading, things were set up for him with us, and he knew it, he is not a rubbish manager, but i do not think he is as good as he thinks he is either.the way he is acting regarding siggy tells you he may not be as humble and honest as we thought he was either.

No doubt about his managerial ability - WITH THE SWANS. Didn't look so clever at Watford and particularly Reading. There's no guarantee that the Liverpool players will buy into his philosophy and, if they don't, and there will be some, the team is going to be disjointed whilst he hires and fires and works on the squad.

Meantime, the fans and the media will be shuffling restlessly wondering how long this is going to take. If he gets bad results early on he will be under great pressure. On the other hand he will be working with quality players who should adapt, in which case he will be fine.

Personally, I don't give a **** about what happens to him now; my support and loyalty is reserved for the next Swansea manager. But I must confess that I will allow myself a quiet smile if it all goes belly up there.

Causal, your use of "you" when referring to Swansea fans lets your cat out of the bag a bit doesn't it?

    You big bluebird tart!

Rogers going to Liverpool I can understand. Lambert wanting to go to Villa ... really, REALLY!. This boggles my mind. Are Norwich really that bad that he'd want to jump to Villa. WTF. What does he think he's going to do at Villa to turn them around that he can't apply at Norwich to improve where they currently are. He must really think that somehow he got Norwich playing out of their skins and that next season is going to be such an emotional / mental / technical let down that he's not going to be able to do anything about. O'Neil left Villa a couple of seasons back because they wouldn't fund his building program; suddenly their going to fund Lambert's.

He isnt a rubbish manager, no one can really think that if they let the bitterness go a little bit as he is a very good 'student' of the game as the papers have dubbed him.

But he is unproven, not really a big name that will draw big players to Liverpool like the crowd will want/think they deserve whether rightly or wrongly, he has never had a job that is going to result as in as much pressure (e.g a draw at home with us is a good result to the media, at Liverpool a draw at home will be the beginning of a disaster) and personally i think this will make him a rubbish Liverpool manager as I dont think he will cope...but that is just my opinion obviously

What makes him a bit of a **** person is comments such as "I won't be here forever, but Swansea gave me my chance after I'd been sacked by Reading, and other clubs wouldn't touch me. I'm not going to repay them by running out on them now" which he did....5 DAYS after saying he wasnt interested in going anywhere (i know he didnt say this 5 days ago but the point still stands IMO)...all the while banging on about 'integrity;. And now basically saying that he wont try to scupper any deal for Siggy but if anything should go wrong and he doesnt sign for Swansea then i will bring him to Liverpool.

That's one way of putting it. <laugh>

"...he is not a rubbish manager, but i do not think he is as good as he thinks he is either." I agree with that, Mabon.

But the fact is, he was instrumental in delivering Prem football to the Swans whether we like it or not. I still say it was his signing of Sinclair that did it more than anything else, though Rodgers had a direct hand in converting us from the terrified-to-lose model under Sousa to a let's-go-for-the-win model. We owe much more to Martinez imo when you look at the way we play. It wasn't a Rodgers invention.

What happens to him now I couldn't give a monkeys, though I suspect he'll be gone by Christmas.

Rodgers' cv is a bit of a mish mash at the moment, and really does not provide enough hard evidence to say whether he is a good/bad/indifferent,or just plain lucky Manager.
If self belief is any yardstick, then he is up there with the very best, and he may yet turn out to be just that.
The next two/three seasons will decide his destiny,I think. Time will be the arbiter.
I don't have a problem with Rodgers, but am a little disappointed that he left us so soon.
Swansea City and Brendan Rodgers were the perfect fit,but he wanted more than Swansea could provide.
He is a driven, very ambitious man,and he cannot reasonably be condemned for possessing those most human of traits.
Like Martinez, and others before him,Rodgers has a permanent place in the history of Swansea City F.C.
I think he's proud of that, and will never forget his time here.
Perhaps we should also take a little pride in the fact that we were an integral part of his development, and that it took a really BIG Club to tempt him away.
