Don't know if anyone is interested... Haven't worked on this much recently... But team setup and snail generation all in place. My goal is to have it running for the off-season Star rating is an approximate guide to how good they are. (It is their actual stat divided by 3.2 and then rounded down) . You need to put them on the test track to figure out which is actually better. Also some stats are hidden. There are no upper limits, random mutations can happen although mutations more likely to make the stat worse than better. (Unless stat is already low). Finishing up team selection and then will work on showing snail family tree and coding the actual races.
Class... like I don't want to point this it but there's lots of horse racing games that make a fortune for people. If you just change to something you can advertise and sell you could mint it Sadly outside me and rhc... i can't see many into snail racing but I could be wrong
It has untapped potential then. My girls looking over my shoulder as I work have asked if they can join when I finish. I'm not sure how to respond to that since the snails can end up mating with each other during a race and I've filled the namebank with mildly suggestive names.
My mates and I used to race grasshoppers in the summer holidays. They're a lot less disciplined at staying on the course than snails, so I'm for it. However, experience warns against competitors being kept in a large glass cider jar under a summer sun, unless you have a reliable and steady supply of snails.
We used to roast grasshoppers in the bonfire embers and feed them to the cats when we were kids. Cats love roasted grasshoppers. I don't recall how we first discovered that. We lived out a bits so my parents used to burn leaves and stuff all the time. Race Snails are kept in state of the art climate controlled environments when not racing. They are treated like the precious individuals that they are... When not being told to attack each other on track. They are hermaphrodites so each one can become gravid with eggs and produce 3 to 10 eggs. (Although with mutations that number could change). All gravid snails remain gravid until the off-season when the eggs are laid. In a few season there may be an over population of snails. To keep the numbers down I'm planning on only letting snails mate during the race . (So trade-off, as mating means a delayed start to the race). Gravid snails move at a slightly slower pace than non gravid snails... The more eggs the bigger penalty... So breeding for fewer eggs might be an advantage.
this is legendary. wait til you see the special combine harvester secret boost cheat. snail goes 60mph and mows down all its rivals. Can be activated when absolute last and your bus hasn't arrived.
Nothing unusual. Just a project I'm working on ahead of the off-season. Going to be a web based game where you house and breed racing snails... It will be a couple of races a week. Goal is, it's the kind of thing can just spend 5 mins on in the morning, picking your best snails for the upcoming race, checking what snails are for sale.... Etc.
