21/12/2012, 01:06 AM Captain Jack Sparrow posted We can still make the play offs..... apparently! Garry Kenneth has responded to John Ward's appointment as Bristol Rovers boss by insisting the club should still be aiming for a play-off place this season. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Garry...ail/story.html I want what he's been smoking To get to the playoffs a team needs an average of one and a half points per game over the season. So somewhere around 69 points. At that time Rovers had 18 points from 22 games. So with 24 games to go, they needed 51 points. The calculation of the four possibilities follows.......... W 17 - D 0 - L 7 = 51 POINTS W 16 - D 3 - L 5 = 51 POINTS W 15 - D 6 - L 3 = 51 POINTS W 14 - D 9 - L 0 = 51 POINTS Having taken 13 points from their last six games under JW; Rovers now have 31 points from 28 games. So with 18 games to go, they would need a further 38 points. The calculation of the three possibilities follows.......... W 12 - D 2 - L 4 = 38 POINTS W 11 - D 5 - L 2 = 38 POINTS W 10 - D 8 - L 0 = 38 POINTS It is therefore mathematically possible. But you would need to be some sort of super optimist to put any money on it!! But keep passing round whatever youâre smoking Garry, because itâs working in our favour so far!!
sapphire, still is possible but if any one really believes kenneth they they must be made table certainly looks a lot healthier and im sure we will still be out of the bottom 2 after this weekend. where all the teams play over this weekend we also would still have 2 games in hand as well. things looking good
