When we scored first against Hartlepool, I felt we were in a good position to go on and win the game. To concede straight from the kick-off was disappointing and then to let them score another goal from a set-piece was poor from us. There was a lot of positives in the second half, but we need to play like that from the start and maintain it consistently. It is hard when you are losing games at home regardless of what club you are at. The crowd will always get a bit iffy because they expect us to win and that is understandable because we want to win games for them. We had to show real character to come back and get a draw, but we showed last season that we have got it in us to do well in pressure games in front of our own fans. We need to get back to that sort of form. There will always be a period in the early parts of a game when both teams are sussing each other out, but we need to sort out why we have not managed to really burst into life in the first half of any of our games yet."
It doesn't get much worse than the second goal on Saturday. Let's hope these words lead to better defending.
anyone going to the game tomorrow night? if not please get on here on the match thread. when we were on the bbc606 site before the bbc closed it down we have lots and lots of members who were ALL regularly posting which made the forum great because it was always busy with plenty of rovers related talk for those who wanted that and plenty of banter too for those who wanted that. its was a great forum but had lots of faults like over zealous mods who deleted lots of stuff and banned members for stupid things and there was a 3 minute rule where you had to wait to post a comment for 3 minutes after post your last comment and it was only open 9am - 11pm. all the faults that the bbc606 had is not to be seen here on this site not606. but we just aint nowhere near as busy as we were which is such a shame. it would be great if those who aint going tomorrow nights game can be on the match thread and we all get involved discussing the game as we listen along. we have members who cant get to games and dont live local so cant listen to the radio and relies on any info we give on the match threads. so discussing the game as we listen will improve our match threads for those who rely on us. come on guys, lets build this place
