Smith - people that say we should sell him...

He's on what, over 50k a week?

Everyone says try to get 1mil for him, but think about it. I can't see any prem team wanting him, and what kind of championship team has 1mil and 50k a week wages to pay on a player that would barely impact the team.

If we could get rid of him on a free before his contract ends we should be happy...

 

He is a good player, and will get bought. Just we have Tiote playing in his position, and Guthrie/Gosling that can cover it competently. He isn't a prick either, so he will take a cut if it means he can get first team football (i beleive).

 

He seems like an alright guy, so would porbably take a pay cut if it meant first team football, if not anyone know when his contract ends?

Smith is an old fashioned player and its a shame but the EPL isn't old fashioned anymore

he is well suited for the Championship though and i've no doubt he would jump at the chance to play for Leeds again

Don't get me wrong, the guy is a great lad, but not good enough to play at the highest level in a midfield role IMO

IMO he was great last season, would do well in any championship midfield.

 

Don't get me wrong, I like Smith.

But I mean bar the first couple of months, where he seemed to motivate the team on, he didn't do anything for us.

And I dunno about the wage's thing, I'd be surprised if he'd take a cut, I'd like to think he would but I'm not so sure.

Plus he's just had that same injury again, would teams want to risk it?

 

We wait ages to get rid of Geremi and Butt and then Smith swarms straight into the vacuum they left. Never going to get near the first team, we should take any price we could get for him.

 

I'd let him go on a free if we had to, still saves us about £2.6m in wages.

 

Alan is excellent man who plays good. He just hurt alot in training.

I've always been of the persuasion that he should be fired out of a cannon but it never really took off as popular opinion.
