i have to say going forward yesterday we looked good our build up play was impressive but our defending was woeful ,where was the defending for their goals we seem to go to sleep at times and its costing us , i like ferdinand but not to sure about gabbidon think we need a new centreback someone a bit more commanding ,we have to stop giving sloppy goals away other than that im quite happy with the way we are progressing

We need more organisation, and leader at centre back

Hill seemed to be the only one trying to manage the back line, but more difficult to do this from LB rather than CB

I would've taken off Gabs, moved Hill to CB and Traore to LB

Easy to say when I'm viewing rather than managing of course!

Neither Ferdinand nor Gabbidon had their best game yesterday by a long shot but they've both been pretty good recently, no need to panic.

We'll most likely sign one of Bassong / Onuoha in January which would be an even better pairing with Ferdinand. I think we should be looking for a left-back too as I think it suits Traore to play further forward. Murphy at Birmingham would be cheap and is basically a young Clint Hill.

Your marking of Holt for our second was non existent.Your defence allowed him a free header at the far post seconds before Hoolihan put it back in and he nipped between your two boys to put it in.You might think he's on the portly side but his finishing is absolutely deadly.

Hello Stortford, welcome to the board<ok>
Only problem with that, is Traore looked about our biggest threat.
SWP needs to up his game(one for you there Kerry!;))

    Thanks Northolt

I've been a voyeur for too long - time to get properly involved

I agree that SWP needs to step up but I thought that Norwich were generally effective in closing him down yesterday, though our long ball first half didn't play to SWP's strengths

My point re Traore is as much a comment on our CBs poor game yesterday, but I do think that Traore operates very effectively as a wing back

That said, Warnock got the formation just right at Stoke

Everybody knows what happens when Holt comes on,long ball head, goal.It happens everytime we play them yet yesterday he has a free header straight at derry and the we give him another one seconds later. Are our defense for real. You would have thought when he came on someone would have said "better mark him just in case"but no,leave him on his own and he scores when they look like they didnt have a clue

Not sure why people are un-happy with Gabbidon, he's been very good imo. It was Ferdy yesterday that looked very shaky and was at fault for the first goal.

If it's any consolation Holt will probably do the same to better defences than yours before the season is out.He just has that rare thing in a striker,an eye for goal.

Yeah thats right but we know him of old so we should have been switched on.Its how easily he got around the back of us.

But we hear this all the time. It's if if and ands were pots and pans really. We gave the Gunner's a run for their money and then Russell Martin made a basic error.People forget that he had already made several crucial tackles and interceptions before he made the mistake that let RvP in for his second.

It's no good railing against "simple errors" They will always happen when you play against good opposition, and that's pretty much all the Premiership. From what we have seen this season I don't think that us,Rangers or Swans have too much to worry about.
